The Undertaker is shaking things up in the gaming world with his quintessential Deadman Eyes charisma, and Fortnite fans are going crazy. For a few days now, a tweet showing that very eerie signature look got interactive, proving The Phenom could indeed attract some attention even digitally.
The clip, or a screenshot to get technical, shows that blood-chilling stare of The Undertaker paired with those pale eyes that haunted WWE: “UNDERTAKER’S ‘DEADMAN EYES’ STYLE 🔥,” goes. Somewhere out there is some link to a full showcase, but let’s be honest- dude’s probably getting a couple of clicks just off staring at the preview and reminiscing.
Now, here’s the weird part. Not a single reply. Not one. Now, that’s strange, isn’t it? You’d have thought by now someone would say something like “REST IN PEACE” or whatever. But not a peep. Maybe people were too busy being hypnotized by those eyes. Or perhaps that tweet had such an incredible effect it put the internet on mute.
Either way, it nearly rivals the other unsolved riddle: Why didn’t The Undertaker blink when he entered?
To the uninitiated, The Undertaker’s Deadman gimmick is one of the most iconic in wrestling history. The dude popped out of coffins, teleported, and summoned lightning. And, digitally, he’s keeping that legacy soaring high in whatever game this is (the tweet would conveniently omit the name- wouldn’t want to make it too easy for anybody).
And whatcha think this whole showcase thing was for? No clue. Could’ve been a whole character breakdown, gameplay trailer, or just ten minutes of Undertaker staring dead into your soul. If that’s the case, good luck with that.
As we speak, wrestling-and-gaming fans alike are left in agony wondering whether or not this is the birth of a whole new WWE legends digital treatment in Fortnite. Smack in the middle of that thought would be Stone Cold Steve Austin smirking in 4K just behind the Last Ride press slam or The Rock raising his eyebrows in the middle of a combo.
For now, we’ll have to stick with Deadman’s haunting glare. And honestly? That’s more than enough.
