It was 19 years ago when Tomb Raider: Legend was launched, but fans still have all those memories that remain unrevoked. The kick started from the official Tomb Raider account: “Which Tomb Raider: Legend moment still pulses in your mind?” And honestly, where should one even begin?

To anyone who hasn’t experienced that glorious phase of gaming during the early 2000s, Tomb Raider: Legend was really a huge deal because it relaid the whole story of Lara Croft, but this time, everything was in much slicker graphics and tighter controls and, most probably, some of the most iconic set pieces ever going to be in this whole franchise.

The devs even released a countdown for the Top 5 moments, but, let’s be real… fans probably have their own personal rankings.

So what really made Legend so special? It took Lara back to her roots while bringing everything up to date. The Bolivia level? Chef’s kiss. That motorcycle chase in Ghana? Pure adrenaline. And who could forget the THAT moment concerning the twist with the doppelgänger? (No spoilers, but if you know-you know).

But what’s really interesting is, whilst the official account teases about the Top 5 list, the replies section is… suspiciously quiet. Like, crickets. Have the fans forgotten?

Or are they possibly too busy playing at the moment to even bother typing? Either way, the silence could be kind of funny. Maybe everyone else was still recovering from that trauma caused by that one puzzle in Japan.

If we had to guess, these replies that we are missing just mean that fans are currently too busy living in their Tomb Raider fantasies instead of tweeting about them.

Or maybe, just maybe, the memories are just too stinging for all of us to have any words left to utter. Either way, Legend, 19 years hence, still stands firm.

If you have never had the fortune of playing it, what are you waiting for? Bruise that PS2 (or grab the remaster) and find out why this game still lives rent-free in our heads. And hey, if you do have a favorite moment, maybe drop a reply before the 20th anniversary hits. Also, real talk—why the hell hasn’t Square Enix announced a full-blown Legend remaster yet? The people need it 🙂
