If you're up for an interesting platformer, Deff is certainly worth checking out. Although it's not officially out, a demo is available for free on the Alpha Beta Gamer platform. It was made by 365 Indies Jam and they did a phenomenal job at bringing a lot of creativity to the table with this type of game. \n \nYou see, you get to play as the Grim Reaper. That's right. You're the infamous Death that controls the balance of life and death forever. There's one big catch, though. There are a bunch of other Deaths in this game. Your Death -- referred to as Deff -- was almost assassinated and the failed attempt has left you in a wheelchair and unable to use most of your body. \n \nhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ELkntLtNpOI \n \nThese unfortunate events has left you hellbent on getting revenge, an act that you will go to extraordinary lengths to fulfill. Like most platformers, Deff has simple controls that you use to get through the various stages. Deff also has dash attacks that he can use to quickly dispose of his serious foes. \n \nAlthough the controls are simple, they can take a bit to get used to. This is particularly true regarding the dash attacks. After a couple of sessions, though, you'll start to find your sea legs. Enemies have guns that they can use to shoot at you from a distance -- so you'll have to be quick and time their attacks just right to take them out before being taken out yourself. \n \nAs you progress in this game, you'll acquire new special abilities that can help with movement and combat. For example, at some point you'll be able to earn slow-motion. It certainly comes in handy when you're looking to dodge enemy attacks and set up a beautiful counter yourself. \n \nDeff is certainly unique in the graphics department as well. It has pixel art animation, which just has a pleasant charm about it. Each stage is as beautifully rendered as the next. You can tell that Deff was a passion project for the developers. The amount of variety there is with each level helps keep gameplay fresh and exciting. \n \nIf you've ever wanted to feel what it's like to be a handicapped Grim Reaper set out on revenge , then Deff is the game for you. The download link for the demo can be found on the Alpha Beta Gamer website. It's certainly a great way to spend some time.
