Darkness is coming to Hearthstone. The upcoming Rise of Shadow’s expansion for Hearthstone will gather the previous evil characters in Hearthstone.

Swampqueen Hagatha will be joined by the other villains to form the League of E.V.I.L. Hagatha will be brought by Arch-Villain Rafaam along with Togwaggle, Madame Lazul, and Dr. Boom.

The bad guys will plan revenge against the heroes who have successfully defeated them in seizing Dalaran.

Hagatha was the first character in The Witchwood set as its only Hero card. Hagatha costs 7 in Mana, and she has 5/5 stats. Players who will pick her will get a Horror card with 5/5 stats.

The Mana, however, will cost only 5. With Hagatha’s mentoring, the Horror can cast two Shaman spells.

Dave Kosak, in the Rise of Shadows announcement trailer, said the latest expansion would launch the Year of the Dragon.

The year, he said, will take the players into the “heart of darkness.” The latest expansion that will be released on April 9 will also introduce 135 new cards and two mechanics. The Rise of Shadows will also launch the game’s storyline for the whole year.

This storyline will be the first ever for Hearthstone. It will also feature several improvements, including the Arena rotation.

Players will get to see the Lackeys which they can use to hit their enemies. The Lackeys are minions with 1/1 stats. Lackeys include the Faceless Lackey, Ethereal Lackey, Goblin Lackey, Kobold Lackey, and Witchy Lackey.

The League of E.V.I.L. will also let the players join their Schemes. Schemes are spells that are powerful. However, if players are good at cooking up schemes, they can hold on to it longer and increase their power. Hagatha’s scheme, for instance, has one damage to each minion and can upgrade each turn.

Meanwhile, possible mechanics are returning with the Rise of Shadow. The villains will reintroduce some of it to players like the Forbidden magics from the Whispers of the Old Gods.

The Forbidden Words card is just one of the many familiar mechanics that will make a comeback in April.

Blizzard also said that the players would get the brand-new single player option in the latest Rise of Shadows expansion.

Current and previous expansions will have a regular rotation too in the Arena. Players can get access on these sets when they are in the Arena: Classic, Basic, Naxxramas, or the Witchwood. They might also access Whispers of the Old Gods, Rise of Shadows, and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.
