A huge announcement for the Year 3 Character Pass of Street Fighter 6 sent the community into a frenzy. The Official Street Fighter account teamed up with wrestling icon Kenny Omega to hype the new fighters, and chaos erupted immediately.

Now, I’m gonna run you through the cast.

🐅 Sagat – August 5, 2025

🕵️‍♀️ C. Viper – Autumn 2025

💪 Alex – Early Spring 2026

📖 Ingrid – Late Spring 2026

Sagat coming back so early was strange news, for sure, yet still a bit of common knowledge—the Muay Thai king has always been a fan favorite since way back. But it’s the other ones that start the real talk, especially with Ingrid coming back for the first time since Capcom Fighting Evolution (let’s just say some of us want to forget that one).

Kenny Omega, in his beloved capacity for fighting games, went full villager in that video announcement, growling “Boo!”, like he had just danced out of a cutscene in Resident Evil. And what about the players? Well, they had opinions.

One took notice: @garygametime said, “I can not wait to see how C.Viper plays in this game. 🔥🔥.” Others, meanwhile, launched into mini-rants about Alex, saying he’s a “failure character in SF3” unless he gets a build like Luke. Ouch.

Enter the Ingrid debate. People either love her or hate her. Not holding back at all was @RICEY300: “No one liked Capcom Fighting Evolution including Ingrid.” Brutal. At least she’s gonna get one last shot at redemption in SF6, right?

The real MVP of the comments came in the form of a flood of demand for Kenny Omega joining the roster, with @ArtImyar pleading: “I’m begging you please make Kenny Omega a playable character please OH PLEASE.” And @TrillGCC305 didn’t stop there; he tagged the Street Fighter movie team, yelling, “YO @StreetFighter PUT @KennyOmegamanX IN THE STREET FIGHTER MOVIE!!!!!”

Now for the pacing gripes. @giantmechapilot threw shade on the gap between the C. Viper and Alex announcement: “Huge—like half years huge.” “Wouldn’t it be better if the release is more evenly spaced out?” Fair, waiting too long for Alex is a downside while Ingrid will be right there after.

Uh-oh, there is also the voice of players still hoping for mains: @SHADOW_REAP3R_6 just wants Karin, @BYosh27 is hoping for Dudley in Year 4, while @meyerpark decided to go full wish list with, “Kolin, Laura, Sean, Lucia, Menat, Rose, and Abigail.” That’s a lot of voices for Capcom to consider.

One thing is certain: this reveal got people talking. Except for the Ingrid debacle, whether it is excitement, skepticism, or pure confusion, the Street Fighter community has never been as active as it is today. Now it’s just a question of these fighters making it or Kenny Omega stealing all the thunder anyways.
