Imagine a random idea of a crossover between Stellar Blade and Expedition 33! Well, if you think about it in earnest, the idea kinds of makes sense. Or even more, a whole lot of sense.

So, why would this just remain a random fan wishlist? Strange combinations; both these games originate from studios new to consoles. So this is Shift Up’s first big console game, and this is Moonlight Games’ first game. New blood, new ideas, and probably tons of pressure to deliver-

Vibes. Both games almost drink from the same inspiration-well of Japanese RPGs like NieR and Final Fantasy. The gay, cinematic storytelling, all-encompassing, over-the-top action-and cheeky dammit-wait, if these games put a good soundtrack, well, welcome to a treat already!

Fashion has to be considered as well. These two games really pack a punch in terms of visuals. Imagine Stellar Blade as a slick futuristic armor show, and Expedition 33 is a stylish retro sci-fi production. The two happily allured cousins with flow and style in terms of combat…the only big difference: parrying is at the heart of it. No mashing, no blocking, just punishing timed parries.

The not-so-perfect scenario of the aforementioned combos really lie in the original tweet, which states that both games… shall we say… incorporate platforming. You miss a jump by one pixel and down you go into respawn-ville. Classic.

Would it even be possible? Probably not. Should it be? Absolutely. Imagine a crossover where the Expedition 33 guys drop in Stellar Blade’s world, or vice versa. Special boss fight, limited-time event, or just cool crossover skins. It does have potential.

For now, it will reside in the realm of fanciful ideas. Then again, the more people talk about it, the more the devs will hear. Keep an eye on these games till then-because with or without a crossover, they’ll be awfully hard for any action RPG fan to miss.

If, for whatever reason, you’re still unconvinced, just listen to the soundtracks. That should do it.
