Square Enix’s Romancing SaGa Re;universe Now Available For Pre-Registration

Square Enix’s Romancing SaGa Re;universe was released in Japan in December 2018. The game quickly rose in popularity in the country. Last year, Square Enix announced plans to release the mobile title outside of Japan sometime in 2020.

Square Enix has now made Romancing SaGa Re;universe available for pre-registration on the Android store. Now players outside of Japan will have the chance to play the game very soon.

Romancing SaGa Re;universe is a spin-off of the Romancing SaGa series, which was released in the early 1990s. The news of the western version of the game was announced after the release of Romancing SaGa 3 in November 2019.

“The world is trapped in a cycle of destruction – the Rise of Morastrum every 300 years brings ruin and extinguishes life. The Sinistrals and their legions gather – will you stand against them? Experience an epic story with a cast of colorful and extraordinary characters as you assemble a party of heroes!” states the official Play Store summary.

Romancing SaGa Re;universe is set 300 years after Romancing SaGa 3. RS3 was released in North America long after its initial launch in Japan in 1995. Though the title took awhile to come to North America, it has very positive reviews so far on Steam. While not a requirement, it may be helpful for players of Romancing SaGa Re;universe to play RS3 first to fully understand the story or any references.

Romancing SaGa Re;universe is a JRPG contains turn-based combat that relies on strategy to win. The game boasts a “deep character growth system,” so there are many ways to earn loot without paying extra.

The game also allows players to activate Auto-Play for casual play ad Manual Play for players who want to have more control over the characters. The characters themselves have various roles, customizable skills, and can join together to create a team.

Many on the original development team returned for Romancing SaGa Re;universe. They include illustrations from Tomomi Kobayashi plus additional guest artists. The soundtrack is provided by Kenji Ito, who has worked on the Romancing SaGa series. He also composed music for Sword of Mana, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2, Hero Must Die, and more.

Romancing SaGa Re;universe will be free to play but include in-app purchases.

Pre-registration is available now on the Play Store.

Romancing SaGa Re;universe will launch on iOS and Android in both North America and Europe in 2020.
