Gas one: The Sasquatch on the loose has just dropped some next-level stuff: Sonic the Hedgehog Timberland boots. Yep, you heard it! The fastest thing alive is getting his Timbs on, and it makes kind of sense-this needs to sink in for a minute. The collaboration will be a Sega Store Tokyo exclusive, and gamers are melting down already.
First up is the design. It looks like a regular Timberland on which reproduction is placed on one side. Some are calling it lazy (B. Fox, are you reading?) while others are excitedly brought to emotion because, well, Sonic and Timbs are something no one realized they needed in life. The reply: “Knuckles can finally curb stomp somebody,” which, fair enough.
And the reactions are everywhere! Some gamers were seriously questioning its existence (shout-out to PapaGrabba for asking if they are baited), while others have already imagined Sonic stomping through Green Hill Zone with the loudest sounds in the history of computation. “You’d hear Sonic a mile away. It’d be like rapid gunfire,” so said one user, and truly, a thousand percent so.
Then it goes to NYC feels; a few responses mentioned the collab hitting different down the city, with one person plainly stating, “This gone hit NYC hardcore.” And hell yeah, if anywhere could ever embrace Sonic in Timberlands, it would be just there.
However, some are not convinced. Some are questioning the oversight of not including Knuckles (Martin.Demario calls it a “drop the ball” moment), while others are begging for this to be a skin in the next Sonic game already. “If this is not a skin next game imma crash out lmao,” one user said, and honestly? Same.
Of course, the memes are coming in. “We got Sonic with Timbs before GTA6,” one joked, which hurts. Another user photoshopped Sonic decked out in full NYC drip and said, “This is canon now,” and honestly? It should be.
So do these boots really mean anything? Limited edition, Tokyo exclusive, and going to sell out faster than Sonic can work across a loop. Will it bring any effect on his speed? Most likely, slows him down. Will it look absolutely steezy? Hell to the yes. In the slightest, this is the one oddly perfect collaboration out of many gaming fashion crossovers.
Now that’s the real question on everyone’s minds: When is the Shadow and Balenciaga drop?
(Aaaand shout-out to the only soul out there asking for Sonic Adventure 3. Never change, gamer.)
