Sea of Thieves has released another snippet in the Grand Hub, and players are already in discussion among themselves about what activities await them. The latest tweet by the official Sea of Thieves account extols some very helpful NPCs ready and willing to guide pirates through new quests, Arena matches, and, wait for it, Barrel Bowling. Yep, you heard it right. Barrel. Bowling.

An enclosed image has also tempted one to reach out into peeking at this very vivacious spirit that warrants a space in the Grand Hub, where players can be expected to explore many ways to spend time when it is not all plundering and killing. Whether your gold will get you a little dodging adventure chasing after new quests, or you just want to smash barrels like a drunken pirate, it should be said: There is something for everyone.

Now it is indeed high time to talk about Barrel Bowling here, because that is the purest blurb about the kind of chaotic energy that Sea of Thieves thrives on. Picture it nicely: perfectly aligned barrel rolls crash against wall barrels, and your clan goes wild with cheers (or heckles). That’s pretty much the kind of ridiculousness and surprise this minigame brings.

Clearly, details are scarce, but the mention of the Arena already hints at more venues for the competitive pirate to display skills. Who knows; it might come with a new twist on ship combat or host a good number of wild free-for-all brawls.

It is a little odd that no one is replying because normally the Sea of Thieves community floods any post with excitement or memes. Maybe everyone is busy learning how to barrel-roll. Or they are just too dumbfounded by absolute awesomeness.

Looks like it’s yet another feather in the cap of Rare’s ever-evolving pirate sandbox. If you haven’t been online in quite some time, now would be the perfect time to go and check what’s fresh. Just remember: Don’t blame us if you lose track of time with strikes in Barrel Bowling.

What’s your take on this? Ready to roll some barrels into the Arena or more into exploring the new quests? Hit us up in the comments if you think you’ve cracked something-or just if you want to brag about your HP in pirate bowling.

And hey, if Barrel Bowling turns into an esport, remember who called it first.
