Rare tweeted an Easter line that somehow brought all players of Sea of Thieves to an excited community-cum-clucking clucking. The developer posted colorful messages wishing pirates “joy, adventure, and a well-earned rest,” along with a bunny-ears emoji and a link that could probably do a good job burying some egg-ceptional surprises in the game.
Of course, that’s something that’s pretty much a routine with every game around holidays. Fans usually go wild conjecturing on, demanding about it, or even just memeing it all, but this time, silent crickets-the replies section is eerily empty, making things funny because Sea of Thieves players are usually the ones flooding all such social media with demands for golden chickens or cursed egg hunts.
Probably they are all busy hunting eggs in the virtual world, but most likely, the tweet was just too wholesome that it left the entire community speechless.
Easter events within games usually mean some form of temporary challenges or just really limited time to get unique cosmetics, on-themed quests, or at least the least cliché part of it would be to deck out your pirate with some silly bunny gear.
In fact, Rare, up until now, has not yet disclosed everything in detail, but if history is anything to go by, then it should be fun and silly for the players just like the time when they made the whole ocean to look like a floating Easter basket-it did happen.
The next thing, as per usual with Rare, will probably include something like:
– Egg treasure maps (because why the hell not?)
– A new emote where your pirate does the bunny hop (instant meme fodder)
– A secret fight culminating in a massive chocolate egg (you can dream)
Well, that sounds kind of fishy-hypothesis-wise; either the community is taking their hours of sleep, or they’re about to give out energy soon into the array of comment floods on “WHERE IS THIS NEW SHIP SKIN?” once the event goes live.
What is for sure is Sea of Thieves keeps something alive during holidays. PVP chaos or throwing a line in there always leads to something silly to get involved in that. If you will excuse me now, I will wait for that egg-shaped cloud to make its appearance on the horizon.
Happy hunting out there, pirates. And oh, remember-if you see a bunny at sea, soon to be rolling with it, don’t question it.
