Sabrina Carpenter’s reaction to being awarded her very own Fortnite skin was like the internet’s most golden hour, and honestly? Full-on relatable energy. The tweet said very casually, “me if u even care,” together with a screenshot of her character in the game. No biggie, just Sabrina becoming casually digital royalty in one of the most enormous games on the planet.
And yet to say its enormous is really selling it, just about. Mostly dry humor aside, the collab with this entertainment superstar won’t end there. From astronomical concert collabs with Travis Scott to skins featuring Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter just got her in-game skin for Fortnite.
What makes it so funny about how she reacted is that she is just being completely gehtz about it. I mean, now she’s in Fortnite and it’s like: whatever. With that given, it means: “I don’t care, but I care a lot,” and the fans are going crazy over it.
The whole deafening silence (to this point) is somewhat insane. You’d expect everyone to flood the comments with hype or jokes, but nope-Sabrina just comes through, drops a legendary tweet, and walks away. Maybe people are busy playing Fortnite instead to see the skin for themselves.
And what can I say about the skin? It embodies sleekness. It screams Sabrina-vibe as classy, fun, and a bit extra. Naturally, it has the hyper proportion thing and loud details that are kind of classic Fortnite, but it’s still totally recognizable as her. We haven’t heard anything about special emotes or back bling just yet, but I think just having it is a real flex.
This is not actually her first run-in with gamer culture. She’s basically been an avid gamer as long as anyone can remember, going so far as to mention Zelda in interviews and to walk into the whole “grew up with a DS in my bag” vibe.
Thus, her being in Fortnite seems…right? Like obviously she’d get pack skins. Obviously she’d post it like it wasn’t a big deal. And of course, we would all freak out about it anyway.
