Alright hear me out, Zone rats and anomaly-tracking folks: Modders have just been showered with a massive blessing with the huge S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy update; the community has been losing their minds ever since. I mean the devs just gifted a huge arsenal of new tools to players to gain even deeper insight into the inner workings of the game. Think config files and shaders are the beginning. And then we have Steam Workshop support to let those cursed creations infect other players’ games.
So…what is this all about, then? The official modding guide gets a facelift, with step-by-step tutorials on changing absolutely everything-from weapon stats to… really, what else now? The devs flat out declare this is just phase one, and sooner or later, they will be opening up all game resources, thus setting the floor rolling for every kind of speculation: fan prequels, Terminator reskins, or—God forbid—anomalous furry mods.
And so the replies were pure Zone disorder. Some dude named Kyle Hurd is begging for Xbox mod support (bro, you got *textures* and you are going to love it). Another one insists on a multiplayer feature-just like it was 2007 all over again. Then, a classic “mods are just reskins” comment comes from Wicked Persona; somebody then follows up with a blatant counter-argument with the *entire existence* of Anomaly/Gamma.
Come to think of it, that blurry textures thing? It’s still going on. It’s always brought up at the clock. Vile35tv is there stating patches didn’t fix it, while another three Stalkers swear it got fixed for them with a couple of YouTube tutorials thrown around. Classic Zone conversation-everybody disagrees, everybody’s pissed, somebody’s hoarding artifact mods like a greedy Duty newbie.
And then, meanwhile, investors are the “bring back cut content” faction. Angry Scotsman is screaming about rewriting USSR history (??), while Knight of Steel Doug goes with “good, now undo what you removed.” Quite subtle, really. Then we have Cujo hitting with a meme link demanding Anomaly support like GSC was gonna package a 50GB fan project.
What it boils down to? The Zone is going to get weirder. Full of resurrected cut content and deblurrers plus practically every profane shader experiment, one can hardly call this update anything but a Mad Scientist permission slip for modders. Just stay out of the comments unless you have a few bottles of vodka and a high pain tolerance.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I suddenly have an urge to mod a Bloodsucker in a top hat. Priorities.
