A brand new update that brings along the latest piece of content from Rockstar Games was just revealed today and it has a car conspiracy involving a self-driving car company enfolding players into the plot. The new mission ‘KnoWay Out’ is being launched along with the ‘A Safehouse in the Hills’ update in which gamers are aiding the character Avi Schwartzman in the process of the downfall of KnoWay, a startup that is using driverless SUVs to create a hidden surveillance network. Apart from that, the update has also added a new mansion property for the owners with a bonus mission attached. The game, which is already a decade old, keeps on getting refreshed with new content and at the same time, the community is always on the lookout for the next big news about Grand Theft Auto VI.
In simple words, Rockstars never stop feeding the GTA Online beast and this new plotting content is… let’s say it is still something. A dark, silent, and even the cutting edge of technology surveillance network made by cars? That’s the very thing Los Santos’ satirical, restless, and paranoid world would conceive. The mission ‘KnoWay Out’ is open now for participants and it seems to be reachable through a payphone in Little Seoul. Quite an easy requirement, just swing by and pick up the phone. What’s even more is that there is an extra bonus mission accessible only to those who buy the new Vinewood Hills mansion, which I think is a nice little perk for the high rollers.
The community’s reaction to Rockstar’s tweet has been nothing short of a crazy mix of hype, frustration, and pure chaos which is the very essence of the GTA Online experience. A few players enjoy it, like user ‘9 G’ who simply stated, “Loving it so far, Well done Rockstar.” That’s the positive side. Yet, if you scroll a little down, you will encounter the other side of the coin glaring.
The users are mainly arguing about bugs. Player ‘SΛGΛTΞRYUZ’ might have been a bit alarmist in their caution when they said, “⚠️⚠️⚠️ Don’t buy anything, the update is bugged.” They claim that HSW upgrades and liveries are being removed from newly bought cars regardless of whether those cars are in the new mansion garages or other places. Players have claimed a damage of over GTA$3 million and the situation is all… not great. Besides, it’s the usual song for players who have gotten used to the updates coming along with their respective glitches. Another player, ‘HEADSHOTmeee-X’, raised the same issue regarding bugs but from a different perspective when he said, “Cool STOP PATCHING HARMLESS GLITCHES AND PATCH THE GODMODE GLITCHES.” The never-ending war between fun “exploits” and game-breaking “cheats” goes on.
And then there’s the… let’s call it ‘divided’ reception on the content itself. While some players are even completely dissatisfied. “All these years and this is what we got smh,” posted Chance Carpenter. Others are just requesting for the whole different scenario to be created. “Please insert more content for Michael in the next DLC update, we need it🙏🏻😔,” begged one player while another requested a story mode DLC arguing Rockstar “would be nothing without the sp story modes from the earlier games!!!” The demand for single-player love is still incredibly strong. Another user ‘E❣ Hearts’ shared her disappointment with the new addition and said: “Why didn’t you add any new clothes or hairstyles? This happened last DLC too 😒 That’s what I look forward to with updates.”
Excuse me, what was I saying? Oh yes, the chaos. It would be hard to imagine a GTA Online thread without ridiculous comments and community in-jokes. One player, ‘johnxboxgamer’, humorously remarked “We got busted in gta online before gta 6 💀” together with a meme that perfectly conveys that feeling that we are all just stuck in Los Santos purgatory waiting for the VI to come. Another user, ‘coolstorybrotech’, posted a video of their character performing yoga titled, “I was doing it wrong now I can see a big difference in running lol 😝🧘🏻.” Just… random GTA moments, you can’t resist loving them.
There was also a surprising but courageous showdown about Rockstar’s politics with one user calling them “Wokestar” for allegedly not releasing a Cops n Crooks update, which was countered by another player who remarked that “It’s almost like GTA has always made satirical references to real life or something.” Touché. And indeed, the constant demands for a new Midnight Club and the desperate yearly ritual of begging for the GTA VI trailer are still there. “Please rockstar please please release that trailer 3,” one user commented with a PlayStation and Xbox in mind.
