Rockstar Games has, without any explanation, taken down the GTA+ advertisement that had been on the GTA 6 store page. What? You read it correctly. The gaming universe is just like, all of a sudden, what’s happening there? Such actions spark discussions among people and, to be honest, it is quite confusing.
A tweet from GameRoll’s was quick to classify it as a “very weird behavior,” and to be honest, they are correct. It is indeed very hard to understand why it was put up only to be taken down. It is not something that Rockstar does to leave people confused and with no explanation when there are already rumors flying around.
Some gamers are of the opinion that this might be a sign of a delay. RaquelNation even made a bold statement saying, “I say the game is going to be delayed again.” But again that would suck, right? After waiting so long, you have to wait even longer? But then raptor_jesus0 countered with, “I genuinely doubt they will still delay it; if they did, they would have removed the release date.” So which side do you take? The entire situation is really back and forth.
Another angle is the Microsoft Store side. DzikStar did a wonderful job in breaking down that Microsoft is the one who is generating the storefront without consulting Rockstar. This is being done for every game that will eventually be available on their consoles. So it could be that the whole thing is not Rockstar’s doing after all? But then if that is the case, why bother even taking it off? It is truly a bit of a mess.
AmeerInTech thinks that “Something is cooking,” and he might be right. What if this is an early sign for something much greater? Heithyboi made the supposition that they could be checking servers for pre-orders, which seems logical. But he quickly added, “I think they’d do that a little bit in advance not just before.” So, the timing indeed looks suspicious.
JackJ6963730 is hoping for “Trailer 3 Tomorrow?????? Because Tomorrow Is The 6.” Wow, that would be fantastic. A new trailer out of the blue? That is the kind of surprise we all are craving. But then, super_papasta does not buy it and asserts that “I think if a new trailer comes out the official team will give us a notice beforehand for sure.” So, perhaps it is not the right time to get your hopes up?
What about the GTA+ subscriptions? ViceCity_408 thinks that Rockstar might be giving away deluxe or premium editions and that they will use it to pull in customers by promising that they will get into GTA Online faster. The concept is pay and no wait. It is a classic ploy, but does it come with the added drama? AwNaBigSlimDawg even joked, “they will charge for the monthly subscription to be able to play the game.” No, don’t please! We have already had sufficient microtransactions.
Meanwhile, the data miners are still very much in it. xXAboodeXx5 says he has come across some backend information indicating that there are possibly two SKU IDs for different pre-order editions. Thus, it could be that we have a basic and a deluxe version coming our way? That is the usual practice for big games, but it does add to the mystery and the question of what those editions contain? More importantly, when can we purchase them?
People’s views on this vary. Rock star will poop in the room and they will all run in, take a breathe of it.” That may be a bit excessive, but it is true that every small move made by Rockstar gets amplified. People are just desperate for any tiny bit of information.
