Just released by Rockstar Games for RDO, you now have a southerner flavor with it. What’s the newest swag? Mountain Man clothes, from an idea by a Reddit user, and guess what? They have been made collectible free of cost to players. They were able to get it today through the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue; no need to have gold bars in hand.
Usually-a moment after Rockstar tweets-the reply section just becomes a battleground with peoples’ demands being thrown in between with memes and random peppy thanks. Some of these players were more excited than others-Puppy4me is now very excited that the set completes their “Indian look.” And then Agent Rivia came storming in: “Nobody cares about RDR Online,” demanding that Rockstar concentrate on GTA 6 or a new Red Dead storyline instead. That really hurts.
Then the usual Rockstar Complaints Department started flooding up with requests for an update, next-gen patch, Turkish language support (shoutout for smokedragneel and mehmet27cg), and…grillz? Yes, Sammie Sioux did want those grillz for the cowboy. Priorities, folks.
Meanwhile, misterkokonot was laying down some serious shade about Roblox dropping real content for the “4269th outfit,” while Puryk27 is more interested in bank heists than fashion shows. Fair enough.
At least one man has been appreciative: raptor_jesus0 came in to say “thank you” to Rockstar for community support. Rare positivity in a sea of “fix your game” complaints.
So what about this outfit? The Apex looks of hairy furs pay homage to rugged frontier trappers in heavy coats, battered hats, and enough leather to make any biker gang jealous. It isn’t much of a concept, but this free drop is definitely something players should reach for as they want to role-play an ornery hermit or just slap a new style on their avatar.
Now, the real question for Red Dead Online: will this be enough to actually bring a few players back? Or is this yet another band-aid on a game that desperately requires some real updates? The answer has to be the latter if the replies are anything to go by, but guess what? Free is free.
For now, if you are still charging down craggy cliffs or tearing down green hills astride your trusty horse, be sure to grab the outfit. It might just give you the spark to live out the mountain man fantasy…or at least save you from looking like a sad potato until the next-gen patch lands.
