Bye-bye to the early quitters. They will not be spared a stiffer penalty after beginning the matches. And if you are that rage-quitter, learn to accept punishment. So, Marvel Rivals is working on the case for those who take it easy while gaming. Quitters be punished with leveling penalties! Especially punishing teammates abandoning in the middle of an enter matchplay. The rest are left high and dry.

The tweet from @MRivalsMedia pretty much emphasizes it all: “#MarvelRivals players face bigger punishments for leaving matches.” But is that even enough?

Players pretty much cover the full spectrum, though – from opposing the new penalties to supporting them. Cheering, can’t carry inactive people, while another points out, “disconnects, etc., or emergencies!”

Thank God for every complete game I play; there is another that I get locked in with the losing team for the last 30 seconds, she understood it!

On the other hand, @VonteTheNewOne is worrying about situations beyond their control – “@MRivalsMedia What if my internet goes out on me or I leave outside of my control? Y’all need to chill out with that.” Fair point, though. Like, ain’t nobody tryna get banned cuz their ISP is trash.

@aerienofthesea says it best: .. ‘This is good and all, but what if the game crashes your whole computer at the start? That is out of my control and I get to be penalized for it?! They still havent fixed the crashing problem.’ Which is true! A big mess!

Some players, like @BlackSheep_1983, have also said that leavers in Gold rank should face stricter punishment, “@MRivalsMedia They need to fix the rank issue. I’m in Gold 1 and players don’t even know how to play the game. Should not at all be happening at this level. #MarvelRivals doubly worse in European servers, seems like no one in EU knows their role/how to play.” BUT! @jupeent replied to the user above, calling out: “@Blacksheep_1983 @MRivalsMedia I’m in GM, and also from EU. Gold isn’t that hard to get out of, you might also be partly to blame aswell 💀”. Savage af!

There is a point in there, some people just wanna keep blaming and blame! Maybe, just maybe, they are the problem.

Debate raging on whether even or not quickplay should have penalties attached to it. @KDEX970’s not feeling it: “@MRivalsMedia Marvel Rivals and Overwatch doing this is so stupid to me, why do I have to face a penalty in Quick Play for leaving bc I don’t want to get dog walked by QP warriors. That shit is stupid.” I kinda get that. QP is supposed to be chill, right?

But @MMAFanboy69 clapped back HARD, “@MercyBuzzard13 @zoharaim @MRivalsMedia Quick play or not, don’t leave. If you leave a game, no matter the mode, you’re the problem. Also, you’re so small minded you gotta insult people lmao. We know how your kind works around here”.

…Wait what was I saying? Oh yeah, leavers! This is a messy situation. On one hand, no one wants to spend time in a 5v6. It’s just not fun and makes sense to punish those people.

Life happens though. Game crashes, your pizza’s at the door, and you’ve gotta bail.

So what’s the solution? Some folks are suggesting a “mercy rule”-like, if someone leaves early, then the match is just canceled or something. Others feel it’s just harsher penalties the more you leave or something along those lines.

Marvel Rivals sure knows how to keep its matches fair, which entails having its head on high and cracking down on rage quitters. Whether they work or not? Only time will tell. But for now, if you are ever thinking about bailing out on your team, remember: Big Brother… err, Marvel Rivals watches.
