We got the message out, gamer darlings: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has really launched on all Apple and Android devices, and you can really take Sargon with you pretty much anywhere. This post first dropped with that nice punch of “Time to put Sargon in your pocket,” and we are feeling that deeply.
For those of you who missed the hype-worthy event, The Lost Crown offers Ubisoft’s most intimate Prince of Persia universe exploration yet, except for an all-new protagonist, Sargon, a boy soldier caught in disarray within the space-time continuum. The Lost Crown was released earlier in the year on consoles and PC; now it’s really portable.
No one has replied to the tweet yet (where’s the hype on this, people?), but you know it’s going to get a divided response. Some will love the opportunity to slash at enemies while waiting for a train, while others…well, let’s just say that mobile ports usually aren’t widely received. Touch controls for precision platforming? Talk about living on the edge! Then again, perhaps Ubisoft has whipped up something quite decent.
The big question-does it bring extra love to Prince of Persia? The franchise has been kind of quiet since Sands of Time became stuck in development limbo (seriously, where is that thing?). If The Lost Crown crushes it on mobile, maybe that will wake up the cruel world of remake-imposed dormancy.
Who’s downloading it right now? Also more importantly… does Sargon fit in your pocket better than your keys? (Probably.) Download it, and let the time-traveling begin. Or, you know, wait for reviews if you’re the doubtful kind. Either way, Prince of Persia has resurfaced-just in a smaller form. And in your palm. Crazy.
By the way-if you actually download it, take to Twitter to let Ubisoft know your thoughts. That tweet is feeling a little empty. Or maybe everyone is too busy gaming. Yeah, let’s go with that.
