Every gamer is indeed a newbie at some point in time; this, my dear friend, is what PlayStation has just bombed to say to everyone by calling on the entire populace to chill with the green tubes; the official account of PlayStation on Twitter updates to remind users that niceness goes to an extra mile, especially for those who are really new to gaming.

The Tweet linked back to the PlayStation Code of Conduct while uplifting the platform as “make the best place to play” without having any toxic behavior and neither having gates but just pure good vibes. And honestly? That message has been long overdue.

The thing is_this tweet seems to fail to elicit much of a response as it deserves, but on moral grounds, this is what the gaming community has been craving the most. New-to-the-game players feel totally condemned-for not knowing how to pull certain mechanics, for missing shots, or even just for being present in a lobby. So far, this appeal to kindness by PlayStation is small but pretty much hits the nail in pitching a cultural scale.

Would have been interesting to see some spicy replies debating whether the gaming community is actually toxic or just “competitive,” but hey, maybe the silence means people agree? Or maybe they are just too busy flaming each other in-game to tweet back.

Either way, hats off to PlayStation for putting this forward. It’ll be interesting to see whether the community really listens-or just drowns it all by the “git gud” crowd.

What do you have in mind? Should gaming platforms mandate kindness more or the occasional trash talk is part of the fun? Do give us your thoughts if you can pull your fingers away from raging at your screen for a while to put them in writing.

And yes, we all know that particular person out there will still be teabagging in 2025. Do not be that person.
