Many games as a service are releasing Halloween-themed upgrades now that the season has arrived. Many players have made it a practise to enjoy their game’s frightening Halloween content upgrades, from World of Warcraft to Apex Legends. Rockstar Games has joined in the merriment, starting with the addition of new vehicles and a slasher mode to GTA Online in 2015.

Rockstar Games has announced on Twitter that this year’s game will give players the ability to see and record extraterrestrial visitors. Due to widespread UFO sighting reports in Los Santos, players will have the chance to actively search for and photograph the mysterious object. Rockstar has dropped a hint about the possible payout for players who manage to record every extraterrestrial, adding that they may be eligible for a fee from a generous believer.

The game’s sustained health is shown in the continued investment in seasonal events like these, which is excellent news for fans. Since its release nearly ten years ago, GTA Online has been played, analysed, and even broken by its dedicated fan base.

The success that GTA Online has had at Rockstar Games’ hands makes it difficult to conceive how the company could top itself in the future. We can only hope that Grand Theft Auto 6 will carry on the series’ excellent track record with respect to both holiday-themed content and open-world fun.
