Marvel Rivals Season 2 will soon explode with incredible fame as a star- not just any star-but Peni Parker, and unlike any you’ve seen before. The game just unlocked her Yatsukahagi Costume, a creation by the legendary Peach Momoko, and it is pure fire. Forget friendly neighborhood Spidey-Girl-this is something much more magical and intense.
Well, the thing about this new style is he took “Lion Dance” from his deceased father, transformed it to a wooden puppet creature, and lost the weird magic of Kirisaki Mountain. While that might have been interesting, she’s also a natural tsuchigumo-from-the-who-bust-don’t-know kind of saying: she’s got a hidden spider chamber; the two are just waiting for what? Apparently that would be the hyakki-yagyō. Yeah, we don’t know what that is either, but it’s awesome and sounds scary.
The dress is pure peak Peach Momoko-bold, elaborate, and dripping in folklore vibes. This has that perfect potion of traditional Japanese forays and comic-book flair, making Peni look like she just walked out of a myth. And, to be honest, we are here for it.
Believe it? Marvel Rivals Season 2 goes live on April 17 at 7 PM PDT, and this costume is among the must-have ones. Be it a Peni Parker fan or someone digging the crazily awesome new designs in games, this is something everyone wouldn’t wanna miss.
But the question is this: What is the Hyakki Yagyō? An event? A boss battle? An in-game apocalypse? The tweet doesn’t say, but it sure got us hyped. Perhaps there’ll be more yokai-themed content rolling out in Season 2. A guy can dream.
Mark down the date on your calendar and dust off the joystick. Parade on the battlefield because that new Peni Parker is not just a costume; it is a statement. And we so here for it.
At this stage, there were no responses to the tweet, but you know that the Marvel Rivals fandom is gonna seriously have a field day with this. Also, expect some fan art and theories to roll out, with probably a few corkers about whether this is Peni’s best look to date. (Spoiler alert: It is.)
That should keep you busy for a while, so drop a short comment or two right here and stay tuned in-Oh! Wild Season 2 is coming.
