Nvidia just dropped Project G-Assist-an alleged A.I. helper that tunes, manages and optimizes a GeForce RTX PC. The System Assistant feature is already live in the NVIDIA app. Is it revolutionary or just another bloatware? Gamers on Twitter are busy arguing over it-some clamming “useless,” while others cautiously hopeful.

Nvidia just exploded the bombshell-that is, the G-Assist. It is an AI assistant for your RTX rig. Much as properly tunes your system, just makes it purr like a kitten. But the reaction online? Mixture would be an understatement.

The replies to the tweet were indeed salty. More than a few were saying, “Fix your drivers first, Nvidia!” @CrapCody even posted, “We just want stable drivers instead.” Ouch?

As some gamers like @Dasandwich1 noted, G-Assist appears to be good for low-end GPUs steering users to set up graphics for target FPS, BUT? Its functioning is limited to high-end GPUs. Faceless, really counter-intuitive, huh? “The problem? G-ASSIST works only with high-end GPUs on which settings are not even touched, probably because everything is left at max lol”. Sounds like a facepalm moment if you ask me.

Then there was @NecronomiconNet, who spoke above the elephant in the room: “Which RTX, exactly? The mythical RTX 5070, 5080, or 5090 found only frolicking in the woods next to unicorns?” At least he ain’t lying; literally, getting a hands-on on the latest cards is like a pot of gold with a dragon for a guard. Best of luck with that.

Asking many people not to take Nvidia to the AIs but calling them all fluff because, you know, it busy working on the real stuff. @BigHargyyy came straight up and asked, “How about you making drivers that work instead of AI dogshit no one asked for?” Harsch, but fair?

But then, some people thought maybe they’re gonna do, like, really great things with it and make it really awesome? @MA7ERIICK made a point and said it would be cool if it could dynamically tune games into at least safe overclocking for the system. But using voice commands? “Voice commands aren’t impressive in any way.”

That was just one example of the downright savage ones out there. One @Vile35tv states, “we do not need this slop.” Damn. Tell us how you really feel! LOL. For some, it was pure “bloatware,” says @zmeul80. Pass on it, and here we go again with another sick burn.

@cloud154532 said it basically hogged all 12 GBs of my VRAM in Kingdom Come when trying it with an RTX 3060. “Def not worth it unless you have a decent amount of VRAM to spare.” So, G-Assist might be a VRAM hog, which is quite unacceptable.

Then there were the people worried about performance hits like @sineidesis”I tried it: GPU usage 99%, game stuttering, dumb answers. Need a better version.” I can imagine not wanting to use anything that detracts from one’s performance!

Is G-Assist really a revolutionizing type of AI in making gaming life brighter, or is it just another unwanted software eating resources for nothing? Jury’s still out, fam. For now, seems like Nvidia still has some work to do to convince gamers of the hype around G-Assist.
