Action buffs were just blown away with a bolt of thunder from Team NINJA-The game, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, is now out for PS5 and PS4, bringing back the classic chaotic cool ninja action with a modern touch. The announcement trailer gave a peek into fast combat sequences of dual protagonists against legions of demons waiting to be turned into demon-horned confetti. And yes: it looks just gross!
But not everybody was feeling it from the reveal. Players pointed to the trailer’s lack of audio, which left a few confused in the replies. One user, @miragepriv011, confronted PlayStation’s social team, “Seriously what is up with you guys posting clips with no audio? Has the admin failed to check the audio before uploading?” Ouch. And almost equally loud were cheering voices: @SaleemRazaNoori stated, “Ninja Gaiden returns with fury! 🐉🔥”
The game’s throwback setting took some gamers back to NES days. “@derek_mafs stated, “This is like the ninja gaiden games on the NES. Neat!” Meanwhile, @Tamagoseph may have spotted a sly Ninja Gaiden 2 staircase side reference (painful, if you know). But not everyone was entirely sold-@DanconiaLoken just threw a side-eye question towards PlayStation, “Youre still making games for the PS4?”
The co-op crowd was disappointed. @Slayer_Seraph wanted to know if the dual ninja setup meant local couch co-op, but no word on that yet. Then the Game Pass people showed up: @jermaine611 asked without embarrassment, “Is it free on gamepass?” (Spoiler alert, no!)
Then there were the wildcards. @VandyMetaX randomly claimed PlayStation is “giving up all their exclusive rights to Microsoft,” which… no. Then @Platinum_Mask came back with, “No money, I had to buy the Mask…” with a rage-gamer gif. Classic.
Amid this mixed rage, one thing goes clear: Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is on fire. For nostalgia, difficulty, or just to see Ryu Hayabusa do what he does best-“Slice first, ask questions never-“there is something to keep an eye on.
So get those katanas sharpened, all audio checked, and jump into this mess. Although, maybe do not plan on couch co-op. Or Game Pass. Or… whatever that mask thing was about.
