Capcom has just offered a new batch of styles for Monster Hunter fans, and to be quite frank, it does not hide its Halloween vibes at all despite the fact that it is already more than a month since October. The Festival of Accord: Dreamspell event has begun and is bringing along the two most remarkable new armor sets for human hunters and their Palico companions. The Dreamwalker α gear and the Meowrionette α set can be acquired with Dreamspell Tickets, plus there is a “Hirabami Harvest” Event Quest that provides access to the Harvest α and Felyne Ghost α gear. So basically, the spookiest outfits ever are now available for your hunter and kitty while they are out hunting monsters.
The players’ reactions have been… well, not very great perhaps, but rather mixed opinions. Some people are thrilled about the coming new items. User OHR62 is among them and he said, “Loving the event! New Diva song is also nice,” while thomyads expressed it in a different way – “One of the best looking events so far. So cool.” On the contrary, x5jailed_k03B01 and some others feel that the event is not well-timed and he pointed out this by asking, “wouldve been nice to have this october 1st tbh” – and honestly they are right; launching Halloween-themed content at the end of November does feel a bit off.
Also, it seems some hunters are having performance issues along the way. TheCupidKid was like “Is anyone else experiencing a massive drop in performance and having their inputs devoured???” what a nightmare it would be to try to control a furious charging Diablos while you are also dealing with that! And poor Backstagefun1 is even more unlucky since he is complaining that his game “freeze[s] on a black screen” at the start-up. Ouch!
The armor customization system is facing some criticism as well. DraenMeteor raised a very relevant question about the color choice: “Can we have the first pigment for the hat and not the hair and the hair be colored by the same color the hunter has? Kinda sad when I’m trying to use different color and the hat remains blue no matter what…” At the same time, 4thFlavel is already wearing the new gear but he wants more hairstyles, to be more precise he is asking “Third Fleet Master’s hair as DLC.”
Moreover, content organization is another issue bothering the players. TakFacts lack of subtlety was revealed when he said “You gotta find a better way to organize these kinds of quests.” which, to be honest, is totally true. After some time the event quest menu can get really messy. LikdeesNutz is already feeling the content drought, saying, “The end of December is going to be a loooooooong wait for some new content.”
However, there are players who get creative with the new cosmetics. Dynamike92 was inquiring about the paired dances syncing and asking if there’s “a way to sync it easily or is it timed click only?” On the other hand, requests for new weapon are flooding in – 120NAP just asked simply “gib me new hunting horns” because seemingly the hunting horn returns have run dry and they are desperate for some new options.
The typical Monster Hunter drama could inevitably be seen in the replies. There was a discussion around Akuma layered armor, with chillinskey pleading “Let me layer over akuma” while LikdeesNutz curtly responded to someone who was complaining about it. And there is always that one constant person who asks for monsters to be brought back – it’sactuallybria with the heartfelt “Bring back teostra🥺” because let’s face it, who doesn’t love that fiery lion?
The divide in the community regarding the armors they want is rather surprising. Darksider6665 openly declared “We want Alma outfit, no that pumpkin one” while cretaceousgoose is asking for “handler and hub worker outfits as armor for hunters.” In the meantime, SonGokuRules was trying to find out which quest gives which armor piece, indicating that the methods of acquisition might not be so clear to everyone.
Nonetheless, the Monster Hunter events never fail to unite the community in the most unusual of ways. There are people helping others to find certain quests, some people are complaining about performance problems, and the whole community is engaged in the never-ending debate of fashion. The Festival of Accord may not have been the right time for Halloween-themed content but it has provided hunters with something new to grind for while we wait for the next Capcom release in December. The new armor sets are fantastic, the Palico customization is super cute, and honestly? Any excuse to go back to Monster Hunter Wilds is a good one, even if at times your inputs get “devoured. This is especially true for players on PlayStation and Xbox.
