Hunting warriors, it’s time to gather around. The grind that you have been doing is being rewarded at last. Capcom has made an announcement saying that the rewards for the Arch-tempered Nu Udra Free Challenge Quest “Burn in Blackest Hell” are now available. The crazy challenge had players going berserk, indeed, for weeks. If you were one of the courageous ones to withstand that trial, then your reward ornaments are now ready to be picked up at the Support Desk or from Mondy, depending on where you finished in the final ranking.
So what were the rewards that finally tempted the players to put in so much effort? These ornaments are already being described as the best cosmetic items ever added to Monster Hunter. The master rank ornaments, in particular, have received very positive feedback from the community. One player, who goes by Frank, has called it “badass” and thinks it’s the favorite ornament of his so far. Another player, KJPlays, without any doubts stated: “These are the best ornaments yet!” which is a huge applause if you think of the endless possibilities for cosmetics in Monster Hunter for all the years.
Nevertheless, the downside that some players have to tolerate is the fact that not everybody got the first-class rewards. The ranking system determined the quality of your ornament based on your final position, and let’s face it, not every player has a reliable group with which they can consistently do these hard challenges. Saul was vocal about the feelings of many solo players: “I can only earn the B rank ornaments because I can never get a constantly changing group to play with :(” Ouch! That was brutal. Trying to get the perfect timing for such difficult quests is really tough.
Believe it or not, some players just totally forgot about the challenge itself. The Polish Skelly confessed, “I forgot it was a thing… dammit-” while another player, MarronBear, said that because of work they could only take part in one of the challenges. Life sometimes has other plans, doesn’t it? Work, chores, accidentally getting distracted with another game – it happens to everyone, even the most devoted players.
For real, the most dramatic part in the replies was that players were asking non-stop for these challenge quests to come back. Transgenderlo Don was almost begging: “I forgot to perform the grind for the superior ornaments, please let me know that all of these different challenge quests will be back.” Mebrial was saying, “I hope they give us another chance!” But the answers were not that positive – one of the players, Yass, claimed “Probably, not before the next fall,” which is practically forever in gamer time.
During the whole chaos caused by the outstanding ornaments, the question about Monster Hunter Rise and Sunbreak was still up. Penguin87 was asking to get the Rise/Sunbreak combo on sale or not, and the community seemed to be mostly supportive. Miles called it “peak definitely worth it” and FrostyHeir said, “I wasn’t really into RISE. But Sunbreak was peak. PEAK monster hunter.” A lot of peak comments are coming up which more or less make me want to restart my Sunbreak game.
By the way, a random side note – a user called Brazen Hazen suddenly shouted “GRAAAAAHH I HATE MONSTER HUNTER” right in the middle of all this celebrating. Like, if you dislike it so much, why do you bother with it at all? Hold on… what was I saying? Ah right! The pendants.
The other funny argument was the one regarding the trapping system, 2gdvdbjqptru898vgs65 complaining that it is now “almost useless” compared to the previous games. “I used to be very fond of this mechanic but now I have hardly any reason to use or depend on it” the user stated, and to be honest… yes, I somewhat feel the same way too. There has been such a major transformation in the game mechanics that some things are less entertaining than before.
Fashion game in Monster Hunter has always been a serious affair, and these new ornaments are undoubtedly causing a commotion. If players’ opinions turn out to be correct, then your rank will be directly proportional to the visual appeal of your ornament, and Katsu noted, “Lower tier ones are smaller” which is logical – gotta give the higher-ranking players something to flaunt.
Thus, if you were part of that tough Arch-tempered challenge, do not hesitate to claim the rewards that you deserve. If you couldn’t make it… well, maybe eventually we will get to see these quests repeated. The Monster Hunter team typically rotates events but no one really knows when exactly these challenges will be back. Consequently, the hunters that came out triumphant from “Burn in Blackest Hell” can exhibit some really cool ornaments.
