Monster Hunter players are finally getting their hands on a fully fleshed out Guild Report, in this case the 26th report, and we thank Capcom for it. I do think that we all should have been able to check our item and equipment loadouts without the need of going through innumerable menus by now. This feature, “View Loadouts,” is one that needs to be implemented alongside item boxes outside of one’s tent and camp boxes in Title Update 3 scheduled for September 2025–the fact that it’s still pending is the main issue.
The “View Loadouts” update is undoubtedly overdue, leaving hunters to finagle with the “classic loadout menu is dated” problem. As a player, I’m sure you’ve had more than one instance of standing in front of an item box, targeting with your cursor, scrolling through gear, and attempting to trigger a vague memory of the set you concocted for a specific monster. New updates implementing the “View Loadouts” system will ensure you don’t have to do that anymore. You should now be able to review your gear before you go on a hunt.
Player reactions range widely in this case. Some commentators are excited rather than passive. In fact, @Jet_Jaguar005 tweeted, “It’s badly needed,” and seemed a little enthusiastic to “look at our gear up close,” which in all honesty, would be amazing. In contrast, @Lucaslovesmen raised the bar by saying, “A viewing mode like the Borderlands one would be sick! Being able to see the weapon all around,” which, to be honest, that kind of attention to detail would be letter-top fashion hunters.
Then there’s the tent controversy. TuLoong88 takes the spotlight with their unclear rhetoric on the “purpose of tents after this adjustment is implemented?” Also, mentions moving “all the tents functions to those boxes.” This spawned a lengthy discussion trying to understand the purpose of tents if item boxes can do the same. Edboyo1 stated, “You still have to go to the tent to rest,” which HenriTessier11 responded with, “U can rest with the BBQ tool. So, what’s the point of the tent now?”
It appears the community is divided as to whether this functionality is a QoL update or the start of the end of tents as we understand it. In my opinion, I do envision tents being used for healing, sharpening, and maybe other features, although they do appear less necessary.
Other proposed changes are still pending approval. For example, @errorTassara404 has been requesting treatment for the “chests in kunafa village & the wudwud layer,” and it is a shame that only camp boxes are getting the upgrade. @Kobe8ph goes into the fashion hunter area and requests “a separate load out for HUNTER APPEARANCE and being able to import them from hunter saved file,” which, yes, scarfing layered sets is a problem.
SpikeShadowhunt, from the storage space team, proudly claimed he was trying to “craft every single weapon at every upgrade level” but there was simply not enough box space for it. After crafting all armor, weapons, charms, even low rank stuff, he stated his box was “almost full” and with the random charm update it’s “basically always full.” His solution? “Double the box size (or more if possible),” which Sunbreak implemented and, with the crafting update, at least allow us to keep everything we craft.
Other requests… were confusing, to say the least. The only incident I have on record is @1ShotOfDepresso’s endless “save bug” series of tweets. In one of them, someone noticed that their save data could not be located even after believed successful save load. It sounds terrible but makes sense because the details are limited. On the other hand, I find @chillinskey’s request of “let me layer over akuma” more cryptic and harder to understand.
Capcom said again that they are “committed to listening to your feedback, and making improvements,” which makes it seem like they are taking in the good ones. There was an explosion from the community dropping strong takes on what they want next—weapon viewing options, box space, tent functionalities—for as long as one can remember the requests have no shortage.
It’s quite remarkable how the one change to the menu opened the floodgates to discussing other game systems. The conversation is no longer about simply checking loadouts. It is about the motivation behind how players use their gear, how they prepare for hunts, and which QoL features are actually useful. The monster hunter community is forcing Capcom to pay attention to these, it definitely shows a positive direction to the overall development of Monster Hunter Wilds.
While the issue of addressing aide feels far removed, at least we know the troublesome concern is scheduled for resolution. Here’s hoping that the save data management gets addressed and even more box space is tossed our way. So for now, I’d like to add, however small the victory, it’s that we can finally look at our load outs without the frustrations of blindly remembering them.
