Just past that monster-sized update, Capcom revealed to the Monster Hunter community that there are now a total of 27 Guild Reports shared until this date. These reports basically try to give the players a look into how they’ve been operating vis-a-vis community feedback. They assured that more newsworthy updates will be showcased in the future in a clean little online place.

But here’s the rub: despite them making all the noise about being all ears, by and large, the response from the player base has been somewhat mixed. Very mixed, really. Some actually appreciate their work. One of the few who said so, ANARCHY, “Having the ‘implemented’ and ‘to be implemented’ tabs to keep track of is helpful, thank you.” That’s good-you felt smart too-the ability to see what has been done and what is to be done.

But, much of the response from the community seems to focus on this one major issue-I think of it as PC performance. If anyone ever had their hearts set on PC performance, well, they surely weighed ten tons with passion. Brother Archimedes cries out with great energy and four exclamation marks, “Priorities are backwards here; all of these are simple fixes that only needs half a dozen developers to do. The real issue is terrible PC performance, we can’t even enjoy new improvements without setting our GPUs on fire.” Ouch.

And worse comes with the PC performance issue. Another user, n3gative, queried, “When are performance improvements coming?? After 6 month of Denuvo contract?? Please, the game runs really bad on PC…” The theme seems clear and loud-the people want their games running smoothly after investing in the right kind of hardware!

And then, the good would be sour. Advantage was taken in the reports that performance issues worsen with the new content. Aoi Hunter, replying to another party, stated, “Siempre que agregan contenido el rendimiento cae mucho, además de volverse más inestable” which translates to “Every time they add content the performance drops a lot, besides becoming more unstable.” Not so nice, if it’s true.

Another discussion is just about weapons and gameplay mechanics. firevolt2ttv said this about Insect Glaive: “IG needs a more dependable way to off set, and basic attack damage is great but give us a reason to use power prolonger right now it useless since we use big upper cut combo.” deluxebows replied, “IG is literally one of the strongest weapons and has some of the fastest times while being extremely mobile… what are u talking about lol.” So disagreements remain in the community itself about what needs fixing.

Then, there are, uh, interesting requests. LitePlays is on “Day 56 of asking for a Hatsune Miku Collaboration,” which, okay, would be something. But chillinskey just wants “to layer over Akuma,” whatever that means. So I guess the community wants what the community wants.

If you think that was absurd, then you haven’t yet heard about Maxton Evandiel’s “Right now the search lobby function is completely broke for some reason,” or cas8spyder’s guild leadership issue: “someone afk for months is somehow the leader when I took a few weeks off yet way more active than him.” These are those random issues which come up in live games that you never ever think about until they happen.

In addition, Monster Hunter Wilds continues to evolve, reflecting the community’s desires and critiques in its updates.
