Minecraft peeps, are you ready to Chase the Skies? Mojang has just shared thoughts about a huge update for June 17th, and it feels like…something really juicy. The official tweet teased a happy ghast, a new music disc, and the biggest visual overhaul Bedrock Edition has ever seen—the Vibrant Visuals.
I’m pretty sure you’re itchy to get the lowdown on what’s in store for this update. Well, to start with, the happy ghasts. Yes, you read it right. Those creatures were never really the embodiment of awesome floating nightmare fuel. Ghosts are being given a glow-up! And @DyingLightTRW screams in excitement, “Ahh the little happy ghast!! Can’t wait! My world’s been waiting!!” Meanwhile, people like @ivandoestv don’t seem convinced as they side-eye and go, “Thats it? I know there are smaller updates but what else is thematically aligned to the title besides the happy ghasts?” Good question, but Mojang’s “and much more” is just going to keep everyone in the dark.
Speaking of, let’s talk Vibrant Visuals. If you are a Bedrock player, this is HUGE since Bedrock users have not yet witnessed Java users flouting their shaders for years. This big refresh refines lighting, colors, and prettiness across worlds. The hype is indeed real: @vReIax says, “finally we have shaders on Xbox 😩🙏.” Others, of course, disagree. @Camgaroooo mocked, “How’s it look worse than unofficial shaders on Java lmao,” eroding all hype.
And then Java folks begin their begging for the release. @itsdam0n_ asked, “When will Vibrant Visuals release on Java?” while @popmanbrad said that he would not even give it a go until a Java release existed. Nothing has been released from Mojang about this as of yet, but knowing them, they’d probably just do it for the suspense.
And then there’s the usual Bedrock chaos… rage. @arvichuz said it best: “this looks amazing just wait when bedrock users who use their phone play on this and get introduced to an insane amount of lag.” Classic. Meanwhile, @Sorryimbusy7667 used the moment to outcry for the end to the “stripped spruce log” bug that has cursed Bedrock for four years. Priorities, people.
In some people’s opinion, prepare to vanish after the update drops. @DuplainTori warned, “Once this update drops… I may never be seen again 😅.” Me too.
It’s right in between all of that wild action and somewhat gets thrown off-topic, though. @adama4692 just laid down a random question: “Aether update when?” as if Mojang were secretly working on one. Then @eveund and @wddrei had a spur-of-the-moment Portuguese exchange with “tá vindo pqp” (translation: “it’s coming, holy “). Surely the Minecraft universe is a blessing.
So, mark 17 on your calendar! If you want to come for the happy ghasts, the visuals, or just another excuse to lose yourself in those blocky worlds, this update has it all for you. If only Mojang could fix marketplace loading problems on Bedrock while at it (@Crewpostar is still waiting).
Till then? Keep your torches lit and expectations moderately high.
