Minecraft on PS4 is Microsoft's and Mojang's forgotten project, left in its barest state, hardly receiving the same updates and functions as the Bedrock edition for Xbox and PC. These servers highlight different modifications of Minecraft for the console, allow players to join in with huge multiplayer modes (like the now-famous Hunger Wars), and feature extensive world-design and explorable hubs. Other modes include Sky Wars, Tumble, and Glider racing. This is a fantastic edition to Minecraft for PS4 - and now the PS5, seeing as the console is backward compatible - and should see a player increase on the platform. Hopefully, with new strides in cross-compatibility across all Bedrock editions of the game, you should be able to play the game with anyone on any platform. While these new dedicated Minecraft servers are a step in the right direction for the PS Bedrock Edition, Realms are still a huge missing feature from the standard Bedrock edition. Unlike on PC or Xbox, you cannot host your own server on PlayStation. This means that friends can't join and play while you're offline. With the introduction of these dedicated servers, Realms might be on the way soon(ish), although it's difficult to tell when official sources haven't mentioned any teasers/hints of when they can be expected. The 1.16.100 update was pushed out earlier today for all major platforms, including PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. The update comes with a bunch of different bug fixes and tweaks.
