Hey gamers, the Minecraft Championship team has just revealed the official meet and greet times for TwitchCon and the hype is absolutely real. The excitement has reached the point of diamond swords for us. The official account of MC Championship tweeted the big announcement with “Meet & Greet schedule just dropped 👀” and invited everybody to come to the Minecraft booth. And honestly, the reactions have been nothing short of incredible.

What’s going on then? It looks like the Minecraft community is uniting at TwitchCon for some great online time with their favorite creators. The popular streamers and content creators from the MC Championship events, which, if you have not heard, are the massive Minecraft tournaments that attract the biggest names in the community, will be the major figureheads of the community. It is like the Super Bowl of Minecraft content but with more blocks and less football.

The announcement replies are explicit indicators of the thrill levels of the people. A user, Char_Rules18, fully caps and wrote, “HECK YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! ^_^ 😀 🙂 :D” which is a very good expression of the atmosphere. Another person, Sushii, was particularly excited about the opportunity to meet Sneeg and Gumi and expressed “YEAAHH Sneeg and Gumiii! im so happy.” Likewise, a user going by the name of devilishgl who shared the same enthusiasm exclaimed, “LETS GOOOOOO seeing gumster >:))” – isn’t the vibe just amazing?

Wait, not everyone was on the side of good vibes. A user called FireWolf stirred a whole drama thread and was very upset about people coming from distant places to attend. They stated that boarding a “12 hours flight” was not worth it just for meeting creators, which triggered a hot debate in the comments. For example, Ben replied, “I mean I took a 6 hour drive each way to go and meet a friend and attend an event… But I guess that was dumb because what’s the point in doing fun stuff?” Certainly, a valid argument.

The dispute progressed with a user named aes telling FireWolf, “its actually a 5 hour drive for me but pop off bro,” while Harry just bluntly stated, “youre so fucking miserable, let people do what they want fucking hell 🤣” – the drama was intense but at the same time a clear illustration of how much the community cares. When you find your tribe, you will go to any lengths just to be around them, right?

On the other hand, the actual creators are also having their share of fun. One of the MC Championship participants, Krinios wrote, “Hey guys I’m Krinios 👋” which is absolutely adorable. Apart from this, there were several other very happy comments like “WE ARE MINECRAFT!!!” from 4CVIT and “MINECRAFT BOOTH??????” from raddles, and a person named ghostiefruit even posted a picture of them arriving at the venue proclaiming “WE’RE READY” – that’s the level of dedication we’re talking about.

What’s even better is that the Minecraft community is not only showcasing their online but also their offline togetherness. I mean, we watch these creators on screens for so long and we also play the game only with friends or alone online, but events like this enable people to meet and connect. And for a game that is about building and creating, it is safe to say that this is very appropriate.

The schedule appears to include different time slots for different creators throughout the days of the event, which is a smart move because having everyone at once would create chaos. Nevertheless, Lava1staff remarked, “every meet and greet would probably go over the 1 hour mark here” which, having in mind the levels of excitement, seems quite a reasonable statement.

It’s amusing to observe that different people have their own ways of going to the events. Some are driving for 5 hours, others are flying in from afar, and then there are the locals who can just walk over. What’s nice is that, no matter how far the distance, they all share the same feeling of excitement to meet the creators they have been watching for years.

This whole episode brings to mind once more the wonderful gaming communities. Where else can you dispute over distances and then have a nice discussion about the necessity of experiences? And the creators’ involvement in the discussion is just another icing on the cake. It is one beautiful, messy, and authentic human connection happening around blocks and pixels, and to be honest? That’s really cool.

So in case you are planning to attend TwitchCon this year, make sure to visit the Minecraft booth and greet the creators that you like the most. But if you are not going, then the social media posts will be there to let you live vicariously through the others. The Minecraft community has always been one of the most engaged and passionate ones in gaming and events like this only keep proving it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go get my popcorn ready for watching some MC Championship VODs and pretend that I am there too.
