Next, hold onto your seats as one of those moments where a person might have to say, “Wait, is this real?” The master of explosions and fireworks for Transformers and Bad Boys is going to direct a Skibidi Toilet movie. And no, that is not a typo- Skibidi. Toilet.
The really big stopper for all of you is, in fact, the legend of VFX, Rob Legato, who also provided VFX to Avatar, Titanic, and most recently, the live-action Lion King. So the same guy who created Pandora and made Simba’s fur respond to wind and interact with light realistically is now designing the visual effects for sentient toilets?
The internet then exploded once DiscussingFilm dropped this bomb. The reactions were a mixture of “We are doomed,” “This is actually in production?!,” and from some, being the traditional “Please tell me this is a fucking joke.” Some, though, are actually excited; Joey Ferris just Tweeted, “Get fucking excited.”
The opposite conversations started to grow: why would a VFX legend like Legato sign on for this? One user, dusty, pointed out that even the best artists can turn out bad work if they’re “not paid well and given reasonable deadlines,” while others are just lamenting the fact that we’ll get Skibidi Toilet before a Half-Life 2 movie. Priorities, huh?
For those unaware, Skibidi Toilet is a very weird (and somewhat viral) internet meme featuring animated toilets that have human heads. It’s… a thing. And now it’s going to get Michael Bay treatment: explosions, slow-mo, and a scene of probably a toilet turning into a jet.
The response is a treasure trove. Some defend the meme creator Dafuqboom, calling them a “very skilled animator.” Others, like BedrockDude54, straight up demand, “May I know why you hate skibidi toilet?” Meanwhile, Samuel The Stomach just wants his “3 gals” in the movie.
Existential dread follows suit. “Human race is truly lost,” tweeted Vis. Quiet Krys said, “We are doomed.” Can’t argue with logic.
But just maybe this blows up! Maybe this is the metaphorical equivalent of drinking expired milk, for any reason really. One thing is sure: with Rob Legato involved, those CG toilets are gonna look *crisp.*
So that’s Skibidi Toilet: Directed by Michael Bay. VFX by the man who did Titanic. Things just got wild in 2024.
