MGS Delta has now just put a fresh coat of paint on MGS Delta, so gamer communities… well, they’re feeling some type of way. The official Metal Gear account stealthily slipped a picture of Snake in tuxedo glory with a sparkle and the tagline “Complete your missions in style.” This was basically a teaser for a very insider joke tucked away in the “Glasses” face item from the Sneaking DLC Pack. This then exploded into chaos.
This tuxedo was divinely fitting. The real drama started when people realized they had to buy the DLC. The comment section exploded even faster than a badly placed C4 charge! Some gamers, like @HattaZulZILLA, went on record, basically saying they’d rather “play the ORIGINAL MGS3 and unlock it with good old gameplay” than pay for it. Ouch. Meanwhile, @BlitzBlitz99 fired back, “At least Konami is picking up the slack and not continuing their shtty gambling machines,” a dig at the company’s infamous pachinko episode.
The lack of gameplay is another sore point; @Resignedbc27 plainly asked, “Can we get some damn gameplay??????” while @bloring1222 pointed out the irony of trying to attract new players when “there’s BARELY any footage 2 weeks from release.” Yikes.
But not salty at all. Some fans are revved up! @NonprofitMoth5 is “geeking with excitement,” while @AndyFloss_ admitted he was “a sucker for customization.” The original voice actor of Solid Snake, David Hayter, just poured oil on the fire by liking a tweet that referenced his iconic MGS2 “Marking????” line, igniting a nostalgia blast.
The detail on those glasses is sneaky-cool—almost literally. Players with a sharpshooter eye caught a rather subtle marking; that one must surely be some obscure deep-cut series reference from Kojima’s team. Sadly, the marking was spoiled for @dharlequin once they caught sight of Snake’s “dead stare”: “not even aligned to where the gun is pointing.” Classic videogame jank.
If there’s ever a DLC to divide people, this one is it. Some call it outright greed (@thawingfrog-looking at you); others say this is just the normal way these days. On the flip side, @GigaSnake is fantasizing about PC mods that will take Snake’s bandana off. Priorities.
With launch creeping up, Konami’s silence on gameplay has become louder than a box being knocked. Will Delta be a tactical masterpiece, or will it faceplant at announcement like a rookie trying to go into alert mode? Anyway, either way, the internet will be ablaze with waves of opinion hotter than the exhaust of Hind D.
