The third season’s half has already gone published by Marvel Rivals. New content launch has made all the fans go crazy. At the top of the list is the late arrival of Blade on August 8 with all the vampire-hunting swank. But the list includes a whole lot more: new skins, downtime, and buckets of hype.
Downtime? So, the maintenance will start first thing at 9 AM UTC on August 8, with a running time of 2-3 hours. So it’s no gaming in this window, and you might want to plan accordingly. Developers have also warned that the return time could change, so don’t get surprised in case it takes longer than expected.
Okay, now the fun stuff begins. Blade’s arrival could be the showstopper for some, while for others, it’s all about the skins. The game is going crazy over the new Peni Parker skin, with comments flooding up with phrases like “THAT PENNI SUIT IS FIRE OMG”, and “NEW PENI SKIN!!!!!!!!!!”. Meanwhile, some want Hulk skins or just throw shade at Star Lord for yet another recolor. Classic gamer banter.
Dark times surround beautiful things such as these. A few folks are wondering where the permanent new modes have gone, as expresses one brutally blunt comment, “Really been dropping the ball with the game modes hopefully this ones better”. Ouch. Others are still holding out for cross-progression, with a distant voice tweeting, “wow still no cross progression is wild.”
The Skin Debates and tantrums surfaced once again. Somebody proposed that Symbiote Spider-man should be the only skin that matters, which prompted a response to clarify the difference between comic and game designs. Adding more spice for fun, however, is a player who very straightforwardly stated: “I want KNULL.” No context, no reasoning, just vibes.”
The hype for skins is just starting. New Cloak & Dagger skin? Fans are already losing their minds, with one player pleaing sincerely, “new cloak and dagger skin give it to me rn pls😩😩.” The other end of town is mourning their wallets, sending out tweets such as “My bank is cooked” and “Damn and I was really trying to save this month 😆.”
So, what’s the take? Season 3.5 is shaping up to be a mixed bag of hype and criticism. The spike being the huge debut of Blade, the skins are making waves (both positively and negatively), and there are some age-old complaints about modes and features. Will these updates help to sway the skeptics? Time will tell. One thing is certain: The Marvel Rivals community never stays silent.
At the very least, there’s something new for each one of us to either grind for or complain about on August 8.
