Marvel Rivals has been doing everything to catch SDCC’s attention, and players are abuzz with excitement. The team just posted plans for the event on Twitter, and all it ever sounds like is a big event. There will be signing sessions from the voice cast and panels from content creators. So basically, if anyone is not interested in all of this, they have themselves a challenge! And oh, remember all those exclusive giveaways? They’re still a thing.
The booth will be open to guests to visit and potentially walk away with some enticing souvenirs. So far, the tweet didn’t go on to specify the kinds of goodies that might be handed out, though if usual protocol is anything to go by, expect just about anything from keychains to posters—maybe even a limited-edition skin or some redeem codes. The replies to the tweet are already getting loud with a fury, with some players even asking if Daredevil will show up (fingers crossed).
But there are those who could care less about free things. Some others used this opportunity to gripe about the game’s matchmaking system. One player straight-up called it “stomp or get stomped,” which… ouch. Another chimed in with a spicy take in Spanish, basically saying the matchmaking is a mess (translation: “What kind of garbage matchmaking is this?”). It’s clear that while the SDCC hype is real, some players would want the devs to take these critiques seriously.
Then there was some skin and pricing drama. A few replies called out Marvel Rivals for increasing the price of the summer mini-pass, with one player saying: “If we don’t say anything, they’ll keep raising prices until it’s unsustainable.” Meanwhile, others were drooling over the idea of a Human Torch summer skin or begging for characters like White Tiger and Pixie to be added to the roster. Classic gamer behavior—always asking for more.
Let us never forsake the poor actors. A reply actually made fun of how poor Eliah (one of the VAs, presumably) is going to lose his voice from screaming “Again!” one time too many whilst interacting with fans. Another player just outright demanded that Wanda be made a mutant in the game. Like, no buildup, just “Make it happen.” Gotta respect the boldness.
Thus Marvel Rivals at SDCC promises to be a must-go for fans of the game. Whether for signings, panels, or just the chance to grab exclusive merch, a fun time is guaranteed. And maybe the devs could throw in some surprise announcements while at it; after all, there’s no better place than Comic-Con for a major reveal.
Just do not forget to stay hydrated while waiting in those lines. Oh, and trust us; it will be worth it.
