It’s good news for Just Dance 2026 fans, and the timing is perfect with fresh air because of the winds that had begun to blow! The official Just Dance account had dropped Party Mode for Just Dance 2026, and it looks like a total game-changer. Also, you’ve got a living room co-op dancefloor in the making. Family or just anyone wanting to have some silly fun would be perfect for it. You could be one, or six could play together whilst this entity called Dr. Gigavolt throws disruptors at you that you have to react fast. These sessions can be of any length, so you’re never committed to long sessions. How cool is that! We are talking all about accessibility!

So what is this Party Mode, to begin with? From the announcement, it looks like a bunch of mini-games with a follow-the-command sort of attitude, a bit like the old Simon Says from back in Just Dance 2 and 3. Many players immediately picked up on this similarity. According to a user, Corey2002, who posted, “So gigavolt says is like Simon says mode from JD2-3,” and one cannot say otherwise! A blast from the past and a little modern, and it’s a good thing because we have not had any good new mode since like, JD2020? That’s what Kamil_ said: “finally some new mode since jd2020, love it.” So yeah, it’s definitely been a while.

The community reaction has been spectacularly hyped. They are excited; the TQR 2026 Edition said, “WAIT THIS IS SO COOL,” followed by a question concerning whether it’s going to be available for Just Dance+ songs or just the 2026 Edition ones. Great question, because if it’s only for the new songs, that would be a pretty big bummer for enjoyment. Another user, Rorro, asked, “Does it work with every song on the Just Dance platform? Or just JD2026?” Ubisoft has yet to make that clear and, honestly, it is frustrating.

And then there’s the online-multiplayer aspect: From Pedro Elias in Fortnite News, “SIMON SAYS IS BACK, I LOVE YOU JD TEAM! Will it be possible to play in online multiplayer mode? πŸ˜πŸ™,” with Luis57791 jumping in to ask if 6 players could play online and if multiple dancer cards are supported. The online play would be a crushing upgrade to the game, especially for those who don’t usually have their buddies over. However, “the game can barely handle itself without crashing,” said joaovitorlace; maybe it should be done first? There are concerns about performance updates while accommodating this new mode, which frankly is well worth raising. I mean, what’s the point of introducing a new mode if the game keeps crashing right?

Others were already trying to envision the gameplay. YoMeedsDeeds said, “It’s like Just Dance Machine and Simon Says mode combined together into one crazy masterpiece!” And eurosummer boy said, “finally something fresh as a real game mode!!,” with an incredibly excited GIF. It totally signals that theirs is a craving for something different from the usual dance routines.

But a couple of people aren’t entirely convinced. Kyra. confessed, “I’m not sure I like it yet, mainly because I have no friends to try it with πŸ˜πŸ˜‚,” which is for sure a mood. Then there’s nick, who went into a full rant about the Abracadabra extreme routine, calling it disrespectful toward the community and saying Lady Gaga deserves better: “ABRACADABRA DESERVES RESPECT!” along with some critique about the choreography. Hyped on one side and disappointed on the other; that is what gaming communities are for.

Other tidbits being talked about in the replies: PoolBoy314 wanted to know if Shake Moves were back, a classic feature from the older games. Tartrat (DΓ³nal) let loose with a hilarious one: “Cool! But I need to know what does this man have a phd in that lets him have a full laboratory under his classroom 😭” I suppose now we really want to know who Dr. Gigavolt is? Is he a real doctor? The lore deepens.

Overall, the Party Mode announcement served as positive fuel, as players were eager to see what that would even be like. It is a very smart move by Ubisoft to reintroduce a crowd favorite classic mode and re-work it for the 026 edition. Ultra-flexibility on player count and session length makes it pretty accessible and that co-op angle makes for great parties (so does the name, duh.) But there are still those unanswered questions about online multiplayer, song availability, and performance improvements. If Ubisoft can back it up, this will be a huge win for Just Dance 2026. So until that happens, the players are just happy that something new has resurfaced for them to look forward to, and the rebirth of those Simon Says feels is a wonderful treat.

So, start clearing out space in your living room and maybe go ahead and work on your reaction times because Dr. Gigavolt just might put in an appearance to put them to the test. And, like Kyra., if you have no friends…Well, there’s always solo mode-just don’t blame it all on us when the loneliness hits hard.
