Insomniac Games lovers seem to have heard a double negative from Insomniac Games, given a very strange tweet. The cryptic tweet read, “She needed a lot of tuning up, but I kept her running…,” and low-resolution symbolism that looked very much like a Lombax silhouette. And flaws were brought upon himself as gamers went berserk on Twitter.
The tweet is suitably vague to allow for several interpretations, but this can only end in mischief. The players are convinced this announcement is the sign of something big- maybe a remaster, a remake, or a completely new installment into the beloved Ratchet-and-Clank franchise. One generally considered respectable user, @thegmarsterPS5, asked flatly if this was a tease for some new Ratchet-and-Clank game, while others like @the_Kev_bot_ threw out desperate pleas for a Deadlocked remake, saying, “I’ll give you my financial aid just to remake this game.” Tough to digest, but understandable.
Then come the port demands. @_TailsTV begged, “Please, Ratchet trilogy to PS5,” whereas @ps_shots1993 goes wild with every wish for remasters of Tools of Destruction, A Crack in Time, and Into the Nexus. @DeadLock_21 went on the other side arguing, “Bring the old R&C games to PS5 NOT the HD versions.” Someone is really passionate about this upscaling, eh?
But on the other side of things, people did not all go along with the hype. @piratalobo208, I made the sarcasm, said, “How annoying everyone is with the ports, right?” and @AmkoIt dismissed Venom game rumors straight-up: “We all know that you guys are NOT making a Venom game.” Ouch.
The bitter reality is: what really is being cooked by Insomniac? The tweet could really mean anything: from a remaster to a full game to just a random nostalgic throwback. But whatever it means, it has opened a pandemonium, with players hungry for more Ratchet and Clank content.
And let’s be honest: Insomniac can hype anything. The studio has been teasing fans for multiple years now, tossing little crumbs, and watching theories multiply like wildfire. Will it end in a real announcement or yet more hype tweets? Well, we shall see.
For now, all we can do is wait. Maybe replay the old games. Because one thing this tweet really showed was that the Ratchet and Clank franchise has one of the most passionate fan bases around.
So, Insomniac…what’s next? A remaster? A sequel? Or just another tweet to keep us guessing? Either way, players are ready, maybe too ready. Imagine @Aelwyn0920 simply saying, “Need a new ratchet 🥹” Same, buddy. Same.
Until then, watch that Insomniac social. From what life has taught us, it has to be one of the greatest tease factories in the world. Gamers, well, they never really learn and fall for it every time.
