This single tweet has sent the gaming community into a frenzy. Insomniac Games, the studio responsible for Ratchet & Clank and Spider-Man, had a very simple demand for their followers: “STOP RIGHT THERE 🛑 You don’t get in unless you send me photos of your pets in advance. 🐶🐍🐱🐢🐹 🦜.” Gamers just went ahead and did as the tweet commanded.
The tweet would have gone into virality in no time, piggybacking off of an image of a security checkpoint that slyly referenced that intergalactic feel of Ratchet & Clank, thereby flooding the reply section. While some went along with the request and flooded the thread with gorgeous pictures of their pets, others…just existing chaos.
The user @SaddieMoon447 quickly obliged and dropped a pet photo with the caption “Here’s a picture of mine.” @Agent_WuT, meanwhile, appears to have just had an existential crisis: “I just realized I don’t have any photos of my pets,” followed by a meme of a stressing guy. This is classics.
A few players outright rejected the premise. @daboss208 replied: “nigga we ain’t getting this game at all,” along with a GIF of someone dramatically collapsing. Harsh but fair—since Insomniac has yet to officially disclose any information about a new Ratchet & Clank game.
Good Nostalgia vibes about Ratchet & Clank flooded in as well; @UltimateCharis1 reminisced,”The first Ratchet and Clank was the shit I remember playing the old demo. God, gaming felt so different back then😂.” Others proceeded to demand, “Remaster the Ratchet and Clank games. 😪.”
Then some attention-grabbing heart-tugging moments followed: @RedFive1243 wrote, “Sadly crossed the rainbow bridge last Monday💔.” Then, @WoomyNator101 proudly introduced the adorableness: “My little dog her name is Sasha.”
Let the trolls have their moment, as expected; @Sir_Cats_Meow posted the picture of what appeared to be a stuffed animal, captioning it with “One of these was my pet, now please send me the Beta code for the Ratchet and Clank Qwark Collection.” Pretty bold.
The thread was dominated by confusion. @kh541331 replied in Arabic, “جزء جديد😁” (translation: “A new part 😁”), showing that hype went across the language barriers.
So the big gumption remains: what exactly has Insomniac been cooking? Is it their way of teasing a new Ratchet & Clank? Were they just buying some cheap amusement for the fans? Or maybe…instead, they’re secretly creating the cutest pet database of the gaming community. (Oh, we would totally put in an application.)
Whatever the answer is, amassing retrospective praise, the tweet was stitched together brilliantly. It got people talking, cracked some jokes, and most importantly, had people sending in their pictures of furry (or scaly) friends. Really, we totally support this.
Hence, Insomniac, if you can hear us…Pet tax submitted, now we want that game! 😏
(And while they’re at it, they’d better consider doing that Ratchet & Clank remaster collection too. Just saying.)
