We all received a nice surprise from Xbox this past weekend with the announcement that Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming in THREE DAYS. No more nicknames—this time it’s truly happening. The rest of the internet is celebrating along with the official Xbox account, which announced the news in a short video.

The first Hollow Knight is loved by pretty much everyone, and I feel this is one of the most hyped indie game sequels out there. Hollow knight has sold more than 3 million copies and is praised for its challenging, beautiful gameplay and amazing world. Now everyone is excited to play as Hornet, who is the coolest character in the first game. Hornet is faster, has new moves, and the new game’s kingdom, Pharloom, is going to be amazing.

And now, for the release date. Everyone is, well, excited about it. Everyone’s different, but the official tweet and the replies tell me a different story. Pixel Luma’s reply with “I cannot wait to dive back into that charming world again!” expresses the excitement of the crowd quite well. On the other side, with something much simpler, Austin Graham wrote, “That’s awesome news! I’m so excited for Silksong too.” We wanted that kind of excitement, and that is the kind of reaction we got for something so old. Without a doubt, this is what we have been waiting for since 2019.

Some of my audience is a bit less excited. There is some skepticism, and personally, I find this funny. ‘GirthMonster’ said, ‘You’re on thin ice, but we forgive you for the first lie.’ Personally, I find this fair. ‘GirthMonster’ is commenting on Xbox, and with the amount of time people have joked around and anticipated the game, ‘delusional’ seems like an appropriate description. The recent announcement, however, confirms the game for sure.

Let’s get to the details. Many users have immediately asked about Xbox Play Anywhere, which is a great feature, by the way. And guess what? Yes! It’s a play anywhere title. It’s nicely covered in a reply from impuestito.org, which, from what I can tell, is an Argentine gamer support account. This means you buy the game once and can access it on both Xbox and PC. That is indeed a very good feature. They also provided some other useful information for gamers in Argentina about pricing and payment methods, which is nice to see.

Finally, and most importantly, is it on Game Pass? Yes, it is on Day One. Several people stated it in the response section. “Sergey” simply said “In game pass!” and another user confirmed, “Yes day one pc and console.” If you have an Xbox Game Pass for PC or Ultimate subscription, you can download and play it as soon as it is released. No additional payment is required. That is incredible in terms of value. Having a game like this so highly anticipated ready to be played is just great.

Some gamers are already planning for the next 72 hours of playing. “Forgemaster” wrote, “well I know exactly how to spend those 3 days… 112% hollow knight in steelsoul cause I haven’t done that yet” and that is certainly the dedication we appreciate. Elsewhere, a user simply yelled, “DELAY THE GAME. THEY NEED MORE TIME” which is… certainly a take. A very panicked and hysterical take.

There is also a desire for a dynamic Silksong background for the Xbox dashboard, which honestly would be pretty nice—just a little animated Hornet on your home screen.

Naturally, because it’s Twitter, we get scattered off-topic stuff. Someone was inquiring about Helldivers 2 in the Argentina store, and another person was trying to stir up console war drama with PlayStation followers, but outside of that, it is mostly a positive overflow of energy for a long-awaited game.

That said, these are the main information: Silksong is releasing in three days, and it will be available on Xbox and PC with Game Pass support. As mentioned above, it is a Play Anywhere title. The anticipation is genuine, and after years of joking and waiting, the game is finally here. The anticipation is quite tangible. Dive into that beautiful, challenging, and mysterious world once again. The time is near.
