OK, an announcement for dear Spartans: Something huge is finally coming to Seattle this October thanks to Halo. The official Halo Twitter account announced that #HaloWC25 is coming to the city from October 24th to 26th and guess who’s going to be there: Steve Downes and Jen Taylor, the original voice toys of Master Chief and Cortana, respectively. Live. On stage. You read that correctly indeed.

There just isn’t any other esports event like this one-It’s really a party for Halo culture. Cosplay contests (imagine a prancing Chief), panels, and really, an electric atmosphere vibrant enough to power a UNSC frigate! The tickets are up for sale already and if you have ever wanted to geek out with actual voices behind the franchise, this is one of those experiences.

Well, in today’s world, reactions differ greatly. The gamer crowd that is so happy to see this includes people like WangTang who said clearly, “I will be there 🫡.” Then, there’s one who will continue to bask in the glory with Kidskull51: “Just going to see them again for the heck of it, never gets old.” Who is ChefandArbistor to take time and roast that awful artwork: “ngl that master chief looks really ugly.” Uh-oh.

Then there’s the wild take: OmegaSaiyanX felt obliged to let the world know, “Damn, never knew Cortana was played by a dude 😅”—which, um, Jen Taylor will surely choose to ignore. And then aSoapyoid started off with harsh criticism: “can you just make a game thats not dog water boiled in piss.” Oof. Somebody really can’t get over Infinite.

Anyway, let’s just remember the real MVP: DOXthaFOX, who put up an 8K render of Chief mid-nap with “Posting random 8K stills until the full collection is ready.” Aesthetic.

For all those who are conspiracy theorists, JoaoLimaML questions whether this might mean a Halo CE remake is coming in 2026. I can’t confirm just yet, but hey, a gamer can dream.

So yeah. It is basically a pilgrimage site for any Halo fan if you find yourself anywhere near Seattle this fall. If not, well, “I would but it’s 4,561 miles. That’s a hell of an Uber,” says GeordieDan.

End of the day: for the esports, the cosplay, or just to hear Steve Downes say, “Wake me when you need me,” with your own ears, #HaloWC25 is definitely going to be the Halo event of the year. Excuse me while I go stare at my ticket confirmation email like it’s the Holy Grail.
