For PC gamers, news just came in from Rockstar that GTAV Enhanced is up and running and carrying some jaw-dropping features. An extra perk here is that anyone who already owns GTAV on PC can get it free, and Xbox PC Game Pass people also get a pass. So that all boils down to what? Probably more things happening in Los Santos with a little bit more eye candy and some perf tweaks.
The tweet from Rockstar confirms the launch, including a gleaming trailer showcasing sharper textures, higher framerates, and all of the regular GTA Online craziness-loosely enforcing much of that GTA Online momentum. It’s been much the same for nearly a decade now, but if something isn’t broken, might as well polish it.
The kicker? This isn’t just some random patch; it’s a heading that slams into their face: “GTAV Enhanced.” Accordingly, it highly suggests, more than anything else, that this is not just some juicy bump in resolution. Among a few things that the trailer glorifies, we observed some terrific improvements in lighting, quick-as-a-flash load times, and some tweaks to those pesky glitches on the online infrastructure-not like they ever worked great. Let’s face it: GTA Online’s servers have been hiccupping like college boys on a kegger.
But here’s the kicker-you can also get it if you’re subscribed to the PC Game Pass at Xbox, start the download now, and play. That is already a good deal, especially if you’re on the fence about buying GTAV for the 47th time.
Well, they thought that now it is just a patch to keep the fans occupied because enemies are silent about GTA6 (well unless you consider the leaks… but boy). And you know what? It is working. The hype train never really went away since GTA Online next-gen updates were announced; here is another coal into the engine.
What is odd, though, is how that tweet received no replies: usually, when Rockstar announces something, the comment section is filled with memes, demands for GTA6, and at least one guy wanting them to make an Oppressor Mk II in real life. Maybe they are just flooded with the updates. They could be still trying to figure out how GTAV is actually being updated in 2023. Either way, Los Santos isn’t going anywhere.
Basically, if you have GTAV on PC, you take the update. If you’re on Game Pass, fire it up. If you are waiting for GTA6… well, continue holding on. At least the wait is going to be a beautiful view over the old smash-and-grab chaos!
