Every GTA VI fan’s dream turned real with a media announcement: Coral Chorus is having a legit in-game radio station. And if you thought otherwise, hopping from one station to another besieged with static to catch a decent song is history. Coral Chorus is in…and the hype train has left the station.
So, what’s with Coral Chorus? Anyone who has been following the leaks-and let’s be honest, who hasn’t?- will know that the music scene in Vice City is very big in GTA VI. Rockstar always has really good radio stations, from crazy talk shows to killer playlists. But Coral Chorus? That’s new uncharted…And going on Rockstar’s track record; it wouldn’t be in worthy hands if it wasn’t loaded with mega-hits.
Now comes the interesting question: what kind of music would they play? As usual, Rockstar did not spill the tracks, but judging by the name, it should be tropical, maybe synth-heavy…like 80s Miami on steroids with a modern touch. Might even be Latin wave. Whatever it turns out to be, it’s going to be a delight!
DJs? The DJs are the very life force for any GTA radio show, with hosts being Lazlow, Fernando Martinez, Kenny Loggins (yes the actual Kenny Loggins). If there would be some crazy characters to jam with on Coral Chorus, we could be in for another truly unforgettable in-game radio experience. Imagine a washed-up ’80s pop star who bickers about “good old days” in between tracks; that would be an absolute gem.
This is really not the first time Rockstar has teased radio for GTA VI; there have been leaks that said there would be lots of new stations, maybe even a revival of Vice City FM. But Coral Chorus officially gets the stamp—that’s pretty huge. It goes to show Rockstar is really invested in making the audio side of this game an immersive experience, which, to be fair, is half the fun in GTA.
And that only leaves us with a mystery: will GTA VI see the light of day? With Rockstar keeping tight-lipped about everything else, it just might be the confirmation of these radio stations that becomes the pull that draws us closer to an official reveal or a trailer or a release window-hey, could be just further teasing.
All that is sure is: Coral Chorus will remain on repeat when GTA VI finally comes out. If only Rockstar would toot its horn and tease that playlist. Oh, a man can dream.
So, mark this down for your calendar, or perhaps not, as there’s no date yet; but just so you remember, GTA VI appears to have a spectacular radio show lined up already. Hype for Coral Chorus starts NOW! Meanwhile, I’m going to go and listen to Flash FM for maybe the millionth time, pretending it’s something new.
