GTA Online has quite literally given GTA Online another wild update, with players carrying out errands for a secretive man behind the scenes called Mr. Faber. The latest Money Fronts update brings a new set of missions in which players carry out asset recovery, escorting high-value cargo, and preventing rival crews from stealing their action.
So, what is Mr. Faber? Well, he is no usual GTA Online contact; he is more like a weird middleman who somehow finds paying clients for devious jobs. Imagine him saying, “I know a guy! That guy knows another guy!” Roughly put, the mission descriptions sound like a mix of heist scenarios and messy escort jobs, which apt sums up GTA Online. Of course, Rockstar-level absurdity means huge payouts and even more absurd firefights.
Now, every gamer is not exactly rejoicing about the update. For example, a section of the playerbase has grown weary of the GTA Online character models. One Twitter user said, “God I can’t wait until GTA6 so we never have to see these ugly ass character models ever again lmfao.” Harsh but fair-some of these NPCs look indeed like they’ve been through a blender.
That aside, others still keep their fingers crossed for the Red Dead news, one fan replying in Portuguese, “Post the Red Dead Redemption news already.” Rockstar has gone completely silent on that front, however, so better put that hope on hold.
Meanwhile, gamers up for automotive gossip. Another begged Rockstar Games to bring an updated Nissan GT-R R35 in-game; calling it “old and outdated” at the moment. They even pitched for a hilarious special works conversion for the Elegy RH8, which…well, honestly, it does need some pimping.
The Money Fronts update illustrates how Rockstar is using everything they’ve got to keep GTA Online relevant while we wait (and wait…and wait) for GTA6. And it’s, honestly, working. The game still packs in huge numbers, and updates like these keep fueling new opportunities for player mayhem and stacks of limpidity in virtual cash.
If you’re tired of working for the same old grind, Mr. Faber might just be what you need. Watch out for the rival crews; they’re very far from friendly. Maybe you’ll bail yourself out enough to buy that overpriced supercar you’ve been eyeing, or you’ll just blow it all up on grenades and sticky bombs. Your call.
In whichever case, Rockstar is keeping GTA Online alive. If only they’d get started on that GT-R update now…
