Was it to be believed that whatever you put your eyes on GTA Online during all these years, you felt you had seen it all? Well, not quite. Another new flying craze has come into being, something never recorded in the realm of impotence-a wing is torn off a plane, and the pilot somehow managed to land not into a fiery inferno, Phoenix-like-oh, that’s one wing.
This aerial witchcraft is witnessed in the video posted by Reddit user u/your_reddit_lawyerII and cross-shared by Dexerto. The entire right wing of the plane is missing; but the plane, somehow, keeps on flying and swoops through the air like any other ordinary Tuesday down in Los Santos. It is a kind of clip intelligence that will kind of make you question everything you thought you knew about GTA’s physics and maybe even real-life physics.
The comments are where the freak out begins. One player, @AaVa161, called it: “Absolute legend 🤯 One wing and still flying like a pro! GTA pilots out here rewriting physics.” Which, basically, it is. Meanwhile, @web3_padi says, “That’s the kind of madness that makes GTA Online clips timeless. One wrong move and it’s a fireball.” That is true: a slight bit of a misstep is all it takes for these to go from epic clip to disaster.
But, hang on; is this even plausible, or is it just black magic? @omyenanu straight up asked, “Bro, is this even possible or is it an edit?” and that is a totally valid question. I mean, given that GTA Online kind of has been around for what, more than 10 years now? @BodogCasino_ pointed out, “This is what happens when a game has been out 13 years,” and they are totally right. That has given players more than a decade to find every possible glitch, exploit, and way to break the physics in the systems of this game.
Things got interesting, though, when @kikachukwuc asked if it WAS even possible in real life, and @grok gave an example from the real-world: “Yes, it’s possible. In 1983, an Israeli F-15 Eagle lost a wing in a mid-air collision but flew 10 miles back to base and landed safely, thanks to its powerful engines and lifting body design.” So reality is sometimes just as crazy as video games? Who knew.
Not so impressive for some – @Luxmerzan claimed, “That is easy stunt lmao anyone can do it probably” while @wiibalanceb0ard added, “This is easier than it looks lmfao.” Okay sure guys, show us your one-winged flying skills then. We’ll wait.
Given current expectations and news still floating on GTA 6, the clip’s timing is just a laugh. @DynamicMegacorp joked, “We got GTA: One Winged Angel before GTA 6,” and that stings almost because it’s true. Decade-old game physics-defying stunts by Rockstar, but a proper GTA 6 trailer-is-a-struggle.
What is almost crazy is how the community of GTA Online continues to find new ways to push the very limits of game mechanics themselves. Like @processangel1 said, “GTA becomes your life, when your that good.” The extent to which some players dedicate themselves to mastering every inch of this game is awe-inspiring. If they haven’t actually spent more time practicing stunts in this game than most spend in actual jobs, I would be surprised.
The clip was also a source of creative comparisons – @pro6lema compared it to his life: “this is what i mean when i say i drive my ducati with chaotic grace 💜” which is a whole mood. In the meantime, @DaPixlatedDude asked, “When did Tow Mater get wings again?” which made me laugh ngl.
In deeper discussion, @tique70 pointed out, “Rage 7 physics are underated asf,” which is true. The Rockstar Advanced Game Engine has had quite a few very capable physics systems that would facilitate moments of emergence, which is why GTA clips never get boring – the systems in the game interact with each other in ways that probably weren’t initially intended by the developers.
Now, @GhostOfSolami is really asking, “but can he do it with two wings 👀” which, in all likelihood, yes? But obviously, making one with just a one wing is far more impressive.
What is wild is that this is not the most insane stunt we’ve ever witnessed from GTA Online players. The community has been pulling off ridiculous and fun feats for years now-from perfect heist completions, more elaborate car stunts, and now officially rewriting aviation physics. The ceiling of skill within the game has practically been flattened by now.
That players continue to find ways to break the game and create incredible moments speaks volumes at once for the depth behind GTA Online mechanics and the creativity of its player base. Like @strafeapp exclaimed, “Bro… imagine flexing in GTA like it’s IRL 😳🚁” – that’s literally what is happening. Players treating a virtual aircraft with the precision and skill of real pilots, just with extra explosions, probably.
Following the many years of waiting for any kind of announcement about the next GTA collection, clips like this will forever serve as a reminder of what kept the current game afloat for so long. The emergent gameplay possibilities are practically endless, and the community never fails to shock us with new ways. Be it one-winged flights, perfect heists, or just outright causes for mayhem in inventive manners, GTA Online is a perennial source.
So next time you’re cruising around Los Santos and your brain throws “I’ve seen it all” at you, just remember that someone is probably that one-winged, upside-down freak doing barrel rolls. And they’ll clip it for all of us to enjoy.
