Los Angeles will host the Genshin Impact merch pop-up store from October 18, 2025, to October 26, 2025, and birthday festivities will be plus free gifts for the first guests. This was a proclamation made by HoYoverse, the developer, and it has already generated a lot of excitement among the die-hard game fans, however, a lot of them are voicing their discontent over the fact that the event is not their city.
So, like, Genshin Impact just made the big announcement that they would have another merchandise pop-up in the U.S., and it would be in Los Angeles from October 18 to 26 next year. There will be birthday events and loads of free gifts, which sounds really nice to those living near LA but as I said, the location dispute is really causing more drama in the replies.
The response from the players has been… very strong to say the least. Some players are acting like the world has come to an end and the character users screaming with joy are like user ☆Psyki☆ who literally typed:
“OMG!!! WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN TO ME!?! I WANT TO BUY ALL OF THOSE!” and I can totally relate to them; It’s totally a mood! Another example is Wyatt who, with full confidence, brought forth his proclamation “OH ILL BE THERE.” We all need more of this kind of positivity in the world.
Conversely, there are players who are in extreme despair and represent the other side. It sounds unbelievable, but user remade_being, the most disheartened of all players, is quite accurately reflecting their feelings when they say “Why is it always in LA 😭” and honestly? They are absolutely right. Consider it, how many times can folks living in California get to enjoy the benefit of the proximity to gaming events while the whole country is waiting for its turn?
The pleading for other locations in the replies is both very amusing and utterly absurd at the same time. Seattle, Detroit, Texas, Virginia, Ontario, Riverside, Florida–almost all North American cities have their “please come to my city” comments. Someone calling himself Agent Of Chaos even suggested putting it “somewhere in the Midwest like Iowa or Nebraska middle of the country” which actually? That would be quite cool. Just think of a Genshin pop-up in Des Moines. The chaos would be amazing.
The confusion regarding the event location also arose with bwootster pointing out “?? Why’s the address a place in Florida if it’s being held in LA?” and this led many to speculate whether there were indeed TWO pop-ups or if one of the HoYoverse staff simply made a mistake with the states. Taki jokingly quipped that “LA will be moved to Florida for the event only” which was honestly quite funny.
There is no doubt about it that the merch craving is real. User remade_being (who seems to be having a rough time) implored “Hoyo you should put that pkg on amazon because I really want the xilonen bottle” and I am like, same?? Why can’t we just order the items online rather than having to fly to the other coast? It’s already the year 2024–the technology is available!
Emory also provided a sound argument when saying “Fans are about to flood LA Genshin pop-ups always turn into massive pilgrimages. I wonder how long the queue will be this time.” and indeed, these happenings consist of extremely long lines that snake around the whole block. People will even stay overnight just to have a chance of grabbing some limited edition Genshin merch, which is both admirable and a little concerning if we are being honest.
Then, beside the location grievances, a wild chaos appears and a user tkm_chongyun went very much off-topic with “WE DON’T CARE, REVEAL CHONGYUN’S SKIN … please” which, I mean, is valid but also maybe read the room? And columbinakisser asking “can you please post columbina drip” right in the middle of a merchandise announcement is just peak Genshin player behavior.
What is really intriguing is that the community is so divided on this. Gamers from the West Coast are over the moon because it will be near them while everyone else feels left out. One such user, Bocchi the Runt, accurately summed it up: “I hate how late I learned about this 😭” which is so true when it comes to that FOMO feeling that hits you when you see a cool event happening far away from you.
The whole scenario is a good reminder of the fact that gaming events still go wherever they want while a good part of the player base is left out. I mean, wouldn’t it be more beneficial to conduct a tour or something? Just select a few big cities all over the country instead of just one? Just a suggestion, HoYoverse.
Nevertheless, the excitement is in the air at the end of the day. User Known Xd said, “Can’t wait for this event to be hosted,” and although I likely won’t be able to partake in the fun in LA next October, I still sense the excitement coming through the screen. Genshin Impact fans are very passionate, and the pop-up store is just another way of proving how this world created by HoYoverse has people deeply connected to it.
So if you are going to be in LA next October, you might want to reserve your calendar from the 18th to the 26th just in case. Based on previous ones, it will probably be a lot of fun on top of that. And if you are not in California? Well, I guess you are like many others. But at least we will all have to suffer together while looking at the social media posts of those lucky ones who actually get to go.
PlayStation and Xbox players might also enjoy similar events.
