Phew, Genshin Impact has just released the official event calendar for Version “Luna III,” and the players… are not really happy about it. If at all. The GenshinOfficial tweet presented this new “Events Calendar,” giving everyone the opportunity to see the version advantages in real-time. It looks good in theory, doesn’t it? An awesome little tool to keep track of upcoming events. But the response from the community has been, let’s just say, a complete mood.

The calendar showcases the new version’s events, all set in UTC+8, and telling the players to refer to in-game announcements for the specifics. It is normal by now. But, if you really look into what the players are saying in the comments, you will see a different picture, a whole circle of annoyance with the main voice being that there is very little content and rewards especially in the first half of the update.

One player Chopper_Ball was very straightforward, saying the main event was “so far along in the patch” and called the devs to “add another event in the first half because it’s super boring when there’s nothing to look forward to.” The whole thread was basically saying the same thing. It looks like the first part of the Luna III update was really boring for a lot of people who play the game daily. When you are used to having something to do all the time, a period of inactivity feels like it lasts forever.

Then there is the whole situation with the rewards. Wow, the rewards. Or some players call it the lack of rewards. The conversation in the replies soon focused on free pulls or “Primogems,” which are the resources players get. One user, Chopper_Ball, was often involved in conversations with others, lamenting that “30 pulls are not enough for the playerbase idk😭.” There was even some confusion, where Onami_Chan was asking, “Wait 30 pulls? I don’t remember they said they will give us 30 pulls :o,” which means the communication might not be as clear as Hoyoverse thinks it to be.

Don’t get me started on Geodes. User Lemon got a sarcastic “Ahem we get these totally incredible and useful geodes 😄🔫,” which captures pretty much the way many players in the community feel about certain items that are less valuable than the most desired Primogems. Another user, Daniel Mills, just looked at the calendar and said, “Wow….that’s so fucking poor.” So, the excitement level is… lukewarm.

It is also interesting to juxtapose with other games. One gamer, Caylen, immediately compared Genshin Impact with HoYoverse’s another game, Zenless Zone Zero, saying, “ZZZ is so hecking generous with Polychromes while Genshin does 1 event every month it feels like.” That really hurts. When gamers begin to feel like the other game has greener pastures, that’s a signal that things might not be right in your game.

Even with all the negativity, there were a couple of bright spots. A small number of players are showing some excitement for the new character, Durin, with user Arthur_Dragon cheerfully mentioning that the dragon boy is coming on their birthday. And user Andrea Franco just called Genshin “THE GOAT” (Greatest Of All Time), so the love has not entirely vanished yet. However, these happy notes seem to be just like tiny islands in a vast ocean of discontentment currently.

The main problem that the players are talking about appears to be a feeling of stagnation. User gametijdnl demanded basic Quality of Life improvements “that should be in every open-world RPG like Genshin,” mentioning artifact loadouts and a skip button for dialogue. This illustrates an even greater need for the game to keep up with the times and listen to the community. It is not just the events in one release; it is the overall health and user-friendliness of the game.

So, what is the final conclusion to be drawn from this Twitter noise? Genshin Impact’s Luna III update has its event schedule laid out for all to see, but perhaps the visibility is a double-edged sword. Players can now easily see and are vocal about wanting more to do and better rewards, especially at the onset. The calendar is a wonderful tool for openness, but at the same time it places the developers under the pressure of the pace and quality of their content. As one user aptly pointed out, the calendar seems “rather lunar,” but the player reaction is extremely fiery. The community is making its opinions known, and it is demanding more richness in these updates. Whether Hoyoverse is listening or not remains to be seen, but the feedback is surely loud and clear for anyone going through the replies. Many players enjoy gaming on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
