In all honesty, that hype train is going full speed with the Genshin Impact 5.8 Special Program almost upon us! An official announcement from miHoYo came a few hours ago, saying that the program will air at 8:00 A.M., July 18, 2025, in UTC – 4 on two platforms, Twitch and YouTube. And yes, there would be a raffle, of course! The raffle will run from July 18 to July 22, and the winners would be announced on July 25.
But, for real, who shows up for a raffle anyway? (Okay, maybe some people do.) This is where the juicy stuff in the new update comes along. New characters? Map expansions? Probably some lore bomb? People are freaking out in the replies already, and honestly, so am I.
One player, @QueenMessi1, is already saving for Citlali with a scream into the void: “Saving up to bring lady Citlali home!” Meanwhile, @ari_zombieguide is out here demanding, “GIVE US DOTTORE PLS.” I mean, same energy as someone yelling through a fast-food drive-thru window for some video-game character.
@Zeldris_27 just casually dropped their UID, (749694483, if you want to know) and mentioned being “Look[ing] forward to the new character and a sneak peek about Nid Krai!” Nid Krai? Who? No one really has the slightest clue, but just hearing the name has somehow gotten people hyped. @eirotica has already screamed “excited for nod krai!!!!!”—are they the same thing? A typo? A secret code? Genshin lore just keeps getting deeper.
Of course, not everybody is down for wholesome excitement. @ZenGojoX just had to see someone playing “Genshit” inside “tectone’s x group” and coldly tell the dude to “pick a struggle.” Not very nice, but funny. Then we have @Rideout89 confused, questioning if a quote retweet with hashtags is better than a retweet, considering the original post already has them. Buddy, it really isn’t that complicated! Hit the retweet button and move on.
More raffle madness ensues. @othersideofngrt is “seriously crossing my fingers for those 10 Intertwined Fates” because their “pulls need some love.” Mood. With @elmoya06 manifesting, “this 10 wishes are my Mavuikas weapon.” Desperation is real and relatable.
Right when you need one, here comes @OpTiMiSt_CaT39 saying “Me too.” with a GIF after another user. No words of context or explanation; just straight vibe.
What about 5.8? Nobody really knows, but wild theories are running loose. New characters? Probably. More map to explore? Almost Does illuminate-map-with-a-path definitely. A lore bedtime story that shatters every player’s good night’s sleep? Countless times. The Special Program is just hours away; it’s not long anymore.
Is Dottore finally appearing? Is Nid Krai (or nod krai?) next on the horizon? And, most importantly—who’s going to actually take home that raffle prize? Watch all that and more. Or don’t. But trust me; you’ll be glued to this.
