HoYoVerse has recently shared a glimpse of the next phase of the much-anticipated Genshin Impact update called ‘A Nocturne of the Far North’ with its second part, ‘Luna III’, already sparking mixed reactions among players in the form of excitement, strategies, and some discontent. The official tweet gives a sneak peek into the soon-to-come events and points the players to a complete description on the web, however, the real information is always in the replies, right? Thus, let’s check what keeps people so busy typing their keyboards are getting heated.
To put it simply, the Tales of the Moon III update for Genshin Impact is progressing to its second phase and with it comes a new wave of events and activities for the Travellers. The teaser hints at more to the icy Snezhnaya-inspired region which bears the continuation of the story and the rewards of primogems and materials, but as always, it is the small things, and the little rush of dopamine, that keep the fans attached and the community is very well aware of such things as the character banners and the comeback of an adored and enigmatic NPC.
Well, a major point stemming from the conversation? The casting of the banners. The players are going nuts about the prospect of the two fresh 5-star heroes sharing a banner. One player, Tech ⚙️, just created a meme and exclaimed, “Chev and xilonen on the same banner yesss.” That’s going to be a very powerful pairing for the gamers who are forming particular squads, especially the ones with the Overloaded reaction. However, it has also raised worries about someone’s pulls. The pyro catalyst character named Varessa is a significant source of dispute. User StrawHatG3 quite bluntly asked the official account, “Is it still worth to pull Varessa?” and that sparked a whole mini-guide in the replies.
The community promptly took the initiative to support. User Cloud Strife suggested a complete F2P-friendly team combination, saying that Varessa is re-running with Iansan and Chevreuse on her banner, thus making it possible for you to take along the extremely important teammates. “Anyone with a pyro off-field like Xiangling who everybody already has can be the 4th slot,” they said, recommending either the Fontaine craftable weapon or the Widsith as good weapon choices. Another user, .𖥔 ui🧽, added, “you get chev and iansan from banner just throw like bennet there and slap widstih on her.” It is just that instant, co-created and collaborative theory crafting that makes the Genshin community so interesting. However, not all the suggestions were meta-related. User ceci 🍇 admitted, “I’m not a meta player… But for exploring she is the one I use the most, I love pairing her with 2 anemo on team.” So, there you go, pull for fun or pull for power, the choice is all yours!
But hang on, the excitement is not only about the new characters. A holy return has made experienced players quite sentimental. The legendary merchant NPC Liben has come back! Daily Namecards described him as “the GOAT of NPCs who is back! 🙏” while another user, ri, simply proclaimed, “He is back! Let’s Go.” Liben’s events are extremely popular with the players because of their crazy tasks and high rewards. User xXGhostXx expressed a hope that many share: “hope he gives us info about Snezhnaya.” His return is a delightful throwback to the past amidst the constant influx of new things.
Naturally, there are no Genshin update preview posts without some… serious reflections. The requests and complaints are coming in at a rapid pace. One player, xXGhostXx (once again, they were active!), asked for a “Resin Reserves” system like Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, referring to the current resin overflow as “a waste.” Another one, Kurumi_my_sweetest_Nightmare, shouted in big letters: “STOP NERFING COLUMBINA IN THE BETA 🤬😡😡” showing how closely players are following leaks and beta changes. AyabeKirichirou was simply out searching for a fan-favorite mini-game, “HEY WHERE’S THE WINDTRACE GAME?” The demands keep coming and HoYoVerse is probably just nodding along, having already got accustomed to it.
Also, there is the typical chaos. A question about a Hu Tao re-run was raised (sorry, sawalreuu, not today). Another one, NickEh30BiggestFan69, demanded a Fortnite collaboration to “get Varessa in Fortnite,” which is… definitely a different opinion, to say the least.
