Alienware gave a big bang to Twitter with this simply complicated question: “What game are you choosing?” And OH BOY! The responses flooded in with nostalgia, fury, and heart-breaking choices. Ranging anywhere from classic RPGs to turbo-charged racing games, answers poured in from all over, affirming the fact pretty well that choosing one game is sheer torture to a gamer.

So what did the votes say? Well, it looked nice for a while for Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order; Gawd Dam Superman made it sound like an easy choice! But then the Mass Effect fans came swooping in with Islam and HayRfc declaring: That trilogy is the only right answer. And then there was the Need for Speed crowd with Multiple mentions of Most Wanted (2005) and Underground, which means racing still hits a sore spot with the gamers.

Those retro vibes were disturbed by Jerseydewd going legendary all the way back to Wizardry and Final Fantasy VII. Gustav couldn’t choose: Dark Souls 1, or Bloodborne? Because why pick one nightmare when you can debate over two? Then came the Ocarina of Time gang, with Nic dropping the title as if it were literally the only game that ever mattered.

Not to mention those proud WoW people, with Chapux and Dan enjoying the days of vanilla like it was back in 2004. The-DRAMATIZED-then Red Dead Redemption 2 lobby charged in with MhkiMalone and Jteph speaking loud and proud of Arthur Morgan as the definitive storyteller.

But hold on—wilder! Some players went full-alleyway nostalgic with Abork00 opening the underground path for Dynasty Warriors 4 or JaviME77 backing Nier Automata and KOF98 Dream Match. BoomerBabe was not late to the party, with “The game of Life.” Deep.

The thread was utterly emotional from Persona 5 enthusiasts (shoutout to TurbosnipeOne) to Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 believers—(looking at you, LUCKY47) and let’s not even speak about the OG Pokémon Emerald fans—that is where PokeyStar came through with that emerald-green nostalgia!

What did we see? Gamers have opinions, and Alienware’s “impossible question” proved that no two gamers will ever agree upon a “best” game. May it be Witcher 3, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, or even Jak and Daxter (shoutout to PsychoGX), everyone has a game they’d take to a desert island.

And really, it is this that makes gaming so special. No matter how many years pass, how many newer console versions come, or how many newer releases come out, the classic games and the debates surrounding them will still stay alive. Thus, when someone asks you to assign just one to them? Seriously, good luck…you’re going to need it.
