Then we have Frostpunk 2 for PS5 today. Like with the present day. The official PlayStation account did shower some love (and it was really cool because it is a game about surviving in a frozen wasteland) on this title early in the morning. The tweet says, “#Frostpunk2 arrives on PS5 today ❄️,” undoubtedly sharing a link for purchase or checking out the game, accompanied by some media showcasing those frosty visuals.
The replies are just something else entirely. The reply section is so strange: Half the people answering really do answer the tweet, while the other half do not. Let’s dissect what’s going on.
Firstly, the hyped gamers. There’s someone with the name @Svennyblaze who is relegated to just, “Loved the first one,” as if this were a quick sound bite. Then there is @ThaliaL57962 saying, “The first game was amazing, I’m sure this one is too. ❄️” Cheering for the original Frostpunk. And then there’s @CarsGamesCoin noting how that backlog is huge but it’ll still be wished for “for that spur of the moment late night gaming purchase” and I could totally relate to that.
Then, there’s the other big thing going on that just feels…so strange. Account @hyprbased replied to “@PlayStation You employ literal terrorists,” which, uhm… could someone just explain? What on earth would that even have to do with Frostpunk 2??? Boo-ya! We have a whole thread of arguments about Antifa and terrorism designations and Charlie Kirk’s assassination?? Like @grok is dropping paragraphs about Trump designating Antifa as terrorists in 2025 and I’m here thinking…wait, what was I saying? Oh right, Frostpunk 2!
In the meantime, some discussion concerned technical issues: @GANGREEN167 wanted to know if PS Remote Play app was working for iOS; other users confirmed downed statuses across platforms, a real bummer if you had plans to play Frostpunk 2 remotely.
Priceback had also risen up – a retort to @AndyRokun, with another user filling in-the Standard Edition sells for $44.99 ($40.49 on sale maybe?). Honestly, that’s not bad for a newly added PS5 release.
In-game, people speak of issues: @ultrawideben_YT says “Can’t imagine playing this with a controller,” which, okay. At least because Frostpunk 1 was definitely a very PC-centered type of city builder. But then they did it for consoles.
Right in the middle of this comes the usual random demand: @MarcWetEmUp saying keep it we, release persona 6 NOW- because obviously the second PlayStation announces one, people start demanding another unrelated game immediately. Classic gamer behavior.
And the funny thing is that a lot of people do remember the very first Frostpunk and are actually excited about this sequel. @GenoQuest says, “Wow I remember the first time this game was shown. That was years ago…it finally released huh”- showing that has been a long time coming.
The whole thread is that weird mix of very much game talk and totally unrelated political arguments. It’s like that one thread where people saw the PlayStation tweet and suddenly felt compelled to air all their grievances, whether they related to frosty apocalypse survival games or not.
Then at the end of the day, there’s your release; Frostpunk 2 finally releases today on PS5. The sequel to an acclaimed city-builder survival game in which you try to manage resources and hopefully freeze to death in a post-apocalyptic winter wasteland. This first one was recognized for its hard decisions and moral dilemmas-that is, should I commit child labor to survive or just let everyone freeze? That was real cheery.
If this is your kind of stressful management sim with a frozen aesthetic, today is your day! The game is out today; of course, check if Remote Play is still working if that’s your way of rolling. Avoid engaging in all the weird political discussions in the replies- some just can’t help themselves whenever they see one of these corporate Twitter accounts.
So, yes, this is for Frostpunk 2 PS5 gamers’ release day. A little excitement, some confusion, random unrelated arguments. Just another day on gaming Twitter. The game truly looks pretty cool- no pun intended, of course. In case you love survival city builders and do not mind making a few morally questionable choices to keep your virtual citizens alive, then this would be something worth looking into. Maybe not too much though.
