A few short minutes ago, Turn 10 popped up on Twitter for an extra Laguna Seca post and posed to the players what their favorite cars to race on the iconic track are. The reactions, however, weren’t exactly encouraging for them, shall we say. The official Forza Motorsport account tweeted, “What are your favorite cars to race around Laguna Seca?” along with a slick picture of some car airing out the corkscrew, yet gamers took this perfect opportunity to rant about the state of games these days.
These responses are savage. Seriously, so brutal.
One player, @GeheimpolizistB, replied outright with, “Not one! FM is dead, don’t ya pretend it’s not,” basically putting the whole landscape of the comments into the mood. “This game is dead and it runs like shit,” from another user, @Dinamitas0 is… well, maybe not the most subtle of responses.
There seems to be a recurring theme wherein players feel Forza Motorsport has been abandoned. User @RealSoulBrotha_ called it a “dead-ass-game- truly dead fRoM tHe gRoUnD uP” with that kind of mocking capitalization that just added to the whole disappointment vibe. When another user suggested maybe some updates were around the corner, @Zach_B_Fiddie went ahead and knocked it down: “No its dead, its been several months and theres no update.”
But what was I saying? Oh yes, Laguna Seca. Way too much promotion by Turn 10 lately there, user @5ithGen felt, wondering, “Why are you pushing Laguna Seca so hard? This is the second post in 2 weeks about that track 💀,” which is a fair point, honestly. If a game has multiple tracks, but you keep talking about the same one… that is a little weird.
There were, however, positive remarks! Some players answered the question. @TTV_Juggz reminisced: “Last lap was in the 1969 mussang. So good.” That sounds like a real fun moment. And @Darkpet1981 actually posted a photo of their favorite car, saying, “My favorite cars? Great question!” which is… surprisingly nice given the overall mood.
Those are also very cool suggestions amidst the criticism. User @ands_oliver wrote in Portuguese (which translates to): “I wish you would add Pikes Peak circuit, it would be an incredible experience, I know the game’s focus isn’t rally but it would be amazing.” Which, honestly? Pikes Peak in Forza would be hilariously awesome. Somebody make this happen.
So many users ask for new content, @LKronaj saying, “Please update the game and add new tracks,” while @Fred420170 says it plainly: “We need new tracks.” That does exist, and the players feel like they’re not being given it.
There are even requests for specific cars, like @ALRaptor97 wanting the “3 time Le Mans Champion Ferrari 499P!” and @GRANDDADWHATTHE jokingly (or maybe not) throwing out the suggestion for the “Peel P50 (if it was in Motorsport),” which would be… interesting to see around Laguna Seca’s famous corkscrew.
The general feeling is eminently clear: the players feel like they’ve left Forza Motorsport behind. When a developer account poses a simple question about favorite cars and unanswered majority responses are about the game being dead… that’s not a good sign. The community wants updates, new tracks, and should see that the game is still under support.
Watching this unfold in real time is kind of fascinating, honestly. A game developer attempts to engage with their attendees about racing content, and the community uses that platform to rake their grievances about lack of support. This is not just about Laguna Seca or favorite cars – it’s about players feeling their game has been left to the curb many months since its release.
The strange part is that there are still some players actually enjoying it-the positive shout-outs to specific cars are proof. But the overwhelming narrative in the response is one of disappointment and frustration. When multiple people, independently, start describing your game as “dead” in response to a simple question, well… that’s an issue that needs resolving.
Maybe Turn 10 will surprise present a huge update in response to this. Or maybe they will continue to spam posts about Laguna Seca. Time will tell, but for the time being… the Forza community is pretty united in their message: We want more content, and we want to see proof that this game is alive.
