Forza Horizon threw a simple question on Twitter that sparked outrage among gamers: “So many iconic cars, but you can only pick one! What are you going to go with?” Well, the players answered with outrageously crazy responses that just go to show the gravity that cars have in these guys’ culture.
The tweet from the official Forza Horizon Twitter account had a tood layout featuring some tempting car shots. But the gamers deemed that just wasn’t enough; nah, they went full-blown nostalgia with references from racing games to movies and even animes that would lure any carmind.
One of the early entries saw Aleh come out with “The Battle Trak from Rock ‘n Roll Racing!” along with a cool snap of the good old SNES racer. That’s deep down in gaming history waters-there are some people for whom the real cars don’t even matter so long as the pixelated legends from way back once existed.
The really fascinating stuff started when MiB94 Virtual Photography gave the only correct answer: a custom Beetle that looked like a car straight out of a cyberpunk fever dream. Neon glow undercarriage coupled with body mods that screamed aggressive, this one looked ready for a race through Night City. On another note, supposingly, someone was building it in real life, but then they went radio silent- classic project car tale.
Keeping it real for the Porsche 911 crowd was Gro3 with a quick “Porsche 911, always! 😬” Can’t beat the classics sometimes. Yet CryptoDominence threw up some prayer emojis for life support of the E92 GTS, as if this BMW was some kind of religious experience.
Things mildly descended into hilarity when PolishCarsFanV2 dropped the “Ibishu Pigeon Van” looking pretty much like the world’s most aggressively uncool vehicle, showing meme choices sometimes hit harder than supercars. Joey Jojo Shabado turned it up even further with the 90s concept car-abomination that looks like a 5-year-old designed it with crayons, suggesting there are people out there who would buy it at 23% interest. Uh-oh, pretty much a fact.
Anime F’s definitely shall not miss out! Omar Shaikh came through with the Nu Asurada AKF-0/G from Cyber Formula SIN-a futuristic racing machine that looks ready to transform into a mech at any moment. Because why drive a normal car when you can pilot something fit for a Gundam series?
Many were shout-outs to the various vehicles of Paradise and Revenge from the Burnout series. DonnieCorral1 cited the Revenge Racer whilst b0xfort was all about the Carson Annihilator – totally magnificent instruments of destruction. Because sometimes you don’t want to race, you want to watch the world burn (or at least see some world-class crashes).
The ‘Knight Rider’ fans had their moment when Joel One-Liner dropped “Kitt with Super pursuit mode” with a pic of the iconic talking trans am, and of course many had to represent the Back to-the-Future DeLorean, because time travel is the ultimate performance mod.
The thread also offered some pretty wild crossover picks, with TBJ_1613 throwing out Bumblebee from the Transformers movies or Ryback Cyclone Special from Split/Second. Because why limit yourself to real cars when you can have an Autobot or a vehicle designed for reality TV-style destruction?
The insane part is how this very basic question ended up showing the insane-as-range of what players consider their dream ride. From hyper-realistic track monsters to cartoonish meme machines, from 8-bit classics to sci-fi fantasies-The Forza community clearly has tastes that span the whole history of automotive culture-real and fictional.
And let’s not forget the random-but-just-as-funny “Physical PS5 edition when???,” a remark made by danthe_p because in a thread all about samples of car talk, someone’s gotta check on console availability. Priorities, man.
The whole thread is a perfect snapshot of what makes racing-game communities so special: that split between hardcore gearhead knowledge and complete willingness to embrace the ridiculous. Either you’re the type that can shoot torque specs on every generation of 911 or you just want to drift a pizza delivery van- everyone is welcome in this garage.
One thing’s for sure: if even half of those cars make it into Forza soon, it would be the glitziest and most chaotic racing showdown ever. Just imagine Kitt mixing it up with a Burnout revenge racer, an anime mech-car, and the Pigeon Van. NOW that’s a Horizon to chase.
